zma - Sunday, May 17, 2009 2:20 PM ( #1 )
I got a free packed of zma to try out, its been going ok, no major effect though.
I know you are not supposed to take calcium with zinc as the calcium blocks the zinc(thats what i was told anyway) but i usually
take a casien shake before bed, should i stop due to the calcium in the shake?

Thanks

Calcium and zinc use the same mechanisms for absorbtion and should not be supplemented at the same time of day.  How much calcium does your shake have?  Are you mixing it with milk too?  The casein shake can be taken a couple hours before bed, and then the zma taken at bedtime and there would be little absortion conflict.
