The mods didn't complain and get the section deleted.

Quoted from Kris "we are cleaning up the site and the out of bounds section had nothing to do with bodybuilding so we got rid of it."

I'm going to move the competition the the DB contests and competitions forum.

the way they ban people around here, you would most likely be next for starting this thread questioning their authority.

YOU SCREWED ME MARC! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!
I SWALLOWED YOUR CUM, DOESN'T THAT MEAN SOMETHING!?

Ah, that movie was sh1tty.

Anyway,

WHAT?
If the training section of the forum isn't the new Out of Bounds then I'm gonna be looking for a new forum to hit. Pity.
I made a sh1tload of posts in training and nutrition sections but I've made a lot of intellectual posts in out of bounds as well, it was the place to go when you just wanted to get your mind off stressful stuff.

And, I'm sorry, but does Kris actually come to the forums very often? Because I don't see him making posts, so much as being online.
No offense or anything derogatory intended but I just found that funny or worthy of mention, I don't think this decision is very well reviewed and personally think it'll backfire.

It almost annihilated our sense of community. Almost. I dunno, to me it feels like someone slaughtered my village in my sleep and now we're all lost dogs trying to regroup outside of the ruins, living in fear of being hunted.

WE'RE STILL STRONG.

I swear, I better not get banned for this post. lol

This thread is an excellent example of why we need OBB. With out dumb stuff will leak to other threads. And the OBB is more social which allows you to know the people giving the advice.

It was the only thing keeping me here really. The Training section always annoys me with people with dumb questions etc but I weed for information. The supplement forum is stupid basically. Nutrition section is good half way.

Any way all the spite and arguments etc will most likely still happen, most happened in the other sections anyway. Just read the Tyson Chicken thing with Deadly and Soccer.

word... silly decision. That section made this forum what it was. That was how I killed my countless free hours at work. I'll stick around for that competition we got going on and keep posting on my journal just for personal reasons to see progress and stuff, those two threads will be my getaway I guess... but I can't promise how much longer I'll stick around if I'm not having any fun.

Good decision in terms of keeping the forum "informational", terrible decision in terms of keeping it a "community"

That's the forum I went to when I wanted to see posts from the smarter members who rarely go to the other forums, since they know what they're doing. Anyways, every forum has a seperate section for other talk. A lot of friendships are built throughout the forums and it's just a place to hang out like you normally would with a bunch of people.

Bad move IMO.

the oob forum allowed us to talk about things that were on our minds.

it was interesting to share stories and what not about what we did over weekends and what not. it was a place where u could bond and find out what other bodybuilders like to do and what they think about. it was the place where u found out who people really are outside of the weight room.

bad move!

might as well remove the "birthday" notifications while we're at it... it's not like we can celebrate them anymore. Useless knowing whose birthday it is if we can't wish them a good one. Unless you make a new "Happy Birthday" section, which would be just as silly as removing the OOB section.

Could we have just one thread?

Call it the BS thread where anyone and everyone can come in and chat about w/e is on their mind at the moment so it'd be open for questions/answers, weekend chats, other hobbies, personal ordeals/vents and the like? No real topic, just an ongoing thread.

Put a disclaimer on it saying that any and all things in the forum are un-moderated (to a point of course...but dont power trip) and warn people to not take things to personally in the thread? That way if anyone has a problem with it they just dont have to participate in that thread or block/ignore the offender.

I agree that every forum needs an open section/thread, just for people to talk to their peers in matters unrelated, on the other hand I see the Mod POV too that it can cause some problems if it gets out of hand.

I hope there is a way to find a compromise.
especially now seeing how against this many of the members are...

heck for me...the less members there are, the less wealth and variation of knowledge I have to learn from.

Why not just do that with oob?

I think what they are trying to tell everyone here is: Its a Body Building Forum.
Not a "what do you like to drink or did I get messed up last weekend" forum.
They are just trying to keep it to business. We can still show progress, chat about Sups, food, Lifting Technics. No biggy just go with it.

When presented properly you can still talk about it. As in: I had 3 beers last night will that effect my workout. Just keep it Body Building orientated.
