RE: wtf?

One thing I wanted to throw out there, as a suggestion. This idea is taken from sherdog.com. You can read about it here: http://www.sherdog.net/forums/f2/sherdog-user-rules-faq-contact-info-all-new-members-read-17836/ Basically you get a big double yellow card under your name for everyone to see that shows you f'ed up. Reasons to get one are in that link. You guys can implement something similar, where when someone breaks a rule, you put something under their name that shows it to everyone. This also serves as a warning, that lasts for a certain amount of time (sherdog uses 30 days). When someone gets something like this, it limits what they can do on the site, such as starting threads, where they can post (maybe if someone gets one, they can't post in OOB??), and whatever else you want to implement. If someone breaks the rules again under the "double yellow", BAN. Maybe you guys can take this idea and run with it?

WTF! This is stupid. I won't use this sites google search ever again. Why give you money when you don't try to make this site any better.

I dont think people paid to make the site better. Quite frankly this has been my most favourite forum ever ive been on (until now ) You didnt DONATE to make it better, you DONATED because people like marc spend a lot of time on a hobby they dont get paid for like many members have stated. This comment you made doesnt help our problem, in fact it makes it worse

ORIGINAL: SexyVixenSF ORIGINAL: twistedlink And you WANT it to be a public success. If you want to impress another company to sponsor you, and your workers are behaving like us, youre gonna be pissed, its the same deal I think marc wants serious recognition by serious trainers etc, and if its full of people making rather childish remarks or fighting all the time, it makes marc look bad. Im just trying to look at it on the point of view of the admins... AHA!! I HAZ A SOLUTION TO THIS!!! On another forum I am on...hell I'll say it, Chic Riders, they have a BS forum but it came after much debate. Same thing happened there as is currently here, members were being themselves in which the mods were worried about how the site might "look" to a newbie or a sponsor...Which Chic Riders has several because it is an international female motorcycle association AAAAAAAND the woman who started it all is a female pro stunt rider with sponsors...so w/e happened in the forum could reflect directly upon her. SO what they did is they made the BS forum PASSWORD PROTECTED and ONLY people with a certain amount of posts whom requested access to the BS forum from a specific admin were given the password. It was not a secret about this additional forum. It was posted that access was gained with 100 posts and requesting access from so-and-so BUT it let the sponsors and newbs know that there was a PLACE for people to talk about that stuff that was not open access to anyone passing thru the site or those who are just part timers. Thats my idea... Ive been a mod, so Kris, Marc, all the mods - I know what its like ok, there is a lot of behind the scenes work, sometimes late nights, and so on that you have to take away from your life for some measly "job" that you dont get paid or thanked for and you are always blamed when chit hits the fan. But I learned when I was a mod that its all about perception...when I percieved there was a problem, there really wasn't when I asked about it. Also I learned that people need to have it out, its in our nature, but that doesnt mean that people hate eachother and it will be a constant problem - like twisted said, one thread they banter the next they are cool...thats how people are... I dunno...I have been on enough power tripping mod/admin forums...and all their problems stem from the fact that they dont understand that people have differences and rather than dicipline them for it they should let it play itself out or ask the members involved to deal with it before they have to step in. I'll be here for the info - god knows I need it! - but not for the entertainment. The one thing about that idea is that most of the attacks on this website came from senior members (aka 5 stars under their name). Good suggestion tho

but all members in the OOB have 100 posts anyway, it wouldnt really change anything. plus thats like the "t-cell" at t-nation. i was invited but i could see it being annoying as hell for some people not getting invited but wanting to contribute. like i said though most new members dont go in the OOB anyway

like i said though most new members dont go in the OOB anyway you have a good point here... Only a handful of new members come to OOB... And also lets face facts, the supplement forum may stay on topic, but it has a hell of an attitude behind it at times, and the advice there is simply novice in some cases and can be dangerous

I said before on page 3 or something that donators should have some form of say about what happens, but it doesnt even seem marc david had a say in this. I think our posting of why we should get OOB back has now been given the status "useless" I think this is an internal battle now that quite frankly doesnt involve us members, i think its best if we wait until marc david tells us everything and see what he says. He didnt know this was going to happen and is obviously just as curious about this as we are. I think its best to wait and see whats truly going on

I'm sure he makes some money from this site. The google search bar, supplements101 and adwords. For the record, since you asked... I receive 0% of any revenue generated from Adwords, Google Search bar or the Supplements101 banner. They are not linked to my ID nor do I receive a cut of anything that comes out of that. I couldn't even tell you what numbers this site generates as I'm not part of that in any way, shape or form. I've never asked and I've never been told. So please... I'm not sure the "he" you referred to but the he isn't me.

The OOB section is a must here, it's what makes DBB.com so friendly and homely I'm 100% against the decision Kris made and I'll bet 2/3 of the regular users will leave the forum because of it Kris that call was not cool... at all
