Okay all i wanna know is

For hypothetical sakes, say a debate occurs, and i dont post anything that degrades the actual member, i just point out my opinion, state why i think there opinion is wrong, will i get a yellow card for that? or whatever the rules will be, will i be penalised for it basically?

Im all for strict rules as long as i can still keep my opinions (while not making hurtful remarks, which i do little of anyway).

How do i masturbate threads ROFL

I'd say your opinions are fine and you can express your opinions if you'd like (as long as you don't put down someone else's opinion and they don't put down yours). What would need to change is topics you can have opinions about. Topics like religion and abortion would be banned from the OOB forum. It wouldn't matter what your opinion is, they are not acceptable for discussing.

Right well, i like to have discussions on them topics if they ever do appear, so see ya later guys, email me, add me to msn and go to the board i made if you wanna keep in contact.

To say i can have an opinion, but on limited topics just seems contradictory to me, its like "hey man, you have freedom of speech, as long as you respect people, heres a list of stuff you cant discuss though"

it just kinda defeats the point personally.

But hey, thats my opinion, and im not going to whinge all day about it, im just gonna take your advice, if you dont like it, take it somewhere else.

As to me being a mod...No LOL, I dont think many people would agree thats a good idea

EDIT:This isnt me asking to be deleted.

There's a huge difference between getting angry and making personal attacks on someone and debating a training philosophy..

It seems some have a hard time differentiating the two..

Point... I don't want to come and participate in a forum where everyone agrees with everyone else.... debate is good and in some cases, if not right away.. can actually open your eyes to something you've over-looked or thought to be wrong in the past..

I could care less if anyone agrees with me.. just don't start personally insulting me or anyone else.. there's not need for it..

No, offensive material Bri. We don't need a rated R thread.

More like, do not enter unless you can tell someone your opinion and not get angry if the other persons differs. Because thats what happens. Just look at the last line of Kingyotos sig.

RE: wtf? - Wednesday, July 16, 2008 11:35 AM
some of the people in this thread making comments are complete idiots the imature comments, and fighting over who the mods are are pathetic, the mods we have make a damn good job they dont have to do anything, but they do, just because people have made 1000s of posts; should in no way shape or form qualify them for being a mod theres a few members round here that think they should reach this status with there increasing crap post count, but are incredibly immature, and the stupid questions, and remarks they make reinforces this. mods need alot of patience, and maturity somthing i for one certainly dont think i have..

like Kris has said we all need to put forward some decent REALISTIC ideas.. the oob's area in my opinion has actually been the only reason alot of the better members have stayed around to let off steam.. ive been around here for a while, and have seen lots of really good members vanish i just hope the last remaining ones dont leave aswell.. however many have also left due to the poor quality of material in the oobs section masterbation threads etc so i can understand why this has happened..

maybe just bring it back, and make this thread a stickie, and give everyone one last chance..

I never said R rated, I just said material that may not be appropriate to some people.

RE: wtf? - Wednesday, July 16, 2008 11:49 AM
If you are refering to the pictures I posted then I would have to say that I thought they were more about body building then most things in OOB. We discussed the female figure, if we thought she worked out, and what she focused on. It was a female member asking about a female in a bathing suit and a specific part of her body. Is that not the same thing as a male member putting up a picture of a body building contest with a male in a speedo? Have you ever been to a bb show? There are people, almost "naked" all over, the point is their body and the work they have put into it.

Maybe I wasn't who you were refering to. Was it the pictures of jamie eason(female fitness model) that someone posted? The model that one of YOUR mods had a link to in their sig?

I agree, there was content that was not acceptable in that section and entirely way to many threads that were essentially about nothing. If you establish some rules and actually enforce them, then you should have no problems with the OOB. If you need more mods, assign more.

Here, I will start a list of things that shouldnt be talked about:
-Political preferences
-Religious preferences
-sex
-drugs
........ect

RE: wtf? - Wednesday, July 16, 2008 11:55 AM
this has gotten quite heated lol.  Personally and logically i can see the point of having an OOB section, however i can also see how many issues its caused and can only assume about the legal issues as well.  I am on here quite a bit and have read almost everything that someone has clicked "post" to.  Saying this i can fully understand the need to remove the OOB section as this point in time, we are currently not capable of have a free-for-all subforum, because we as a community dont have thick enough skin and everyone always takes something personal or to heart.  I am no different obviously seen with deadly and how that got ridiculously out of hand.

I would like to see OOB come back but like others have suggested a stricter more straightforward set of rules and then those who enfore those rules.  In all honesty we only have a few active moderators, that i know of.  IBB is essentially gone and he was the most contributing other than bobbi.  We need more people to look over the forum as a whole, not necessarily full fledged mods but those who are able to move or edit posts and thats it, just to make sure things stay in line and let the large decisions such as banning or site changes ect ect stay with the global moderators.

As for the site not generating revenue or paying for itself i would be willing to give 5 bucks a month to help out thats not anything, it would be 5 bucks well spent if the forum benefited from it.  I dont want to see regular members leave and everyone gettign irrate because it can just ruin a website.

/mythoughts although i have more

RE: wtf? - Wednesday, July 16, 2008 11:56 AM
Moderators:  In most cases, moderators are individuals who belong to an online community and have a passion for the specific top that community evolves around.

In most cases, a moderators responsibility is to do their best to keep the piece and defuse a situation that might get out of hand.  If all else fails and a resolution cannot be made.. often they will close down the thread.

I know I'm not on  here as much as some of the other regular members and I fully realize that others have been posting here far longer than I have.. but, I think if a person is going to belong to an online community and volunteer their services as a moderator, they need to be an active participant in that community.  I'm fairly confident that some of the new members who have joined over the past 6 months probably couldn't name 3 moderators.. Why?

Due to lack of group participation... As i said.. Ripped is about the only mod i can think of off hand who actively participates on this forum... It's not a slam on anyone else.. it's just a fact..

IBB use to post here daily, sometimes a dozen times.. once he became a mod.. he's gone.. he may be here moderating and reading forums.. but he's certainly not very active and from what I've seen only posts in his journal.. No slam on IBB, he was and still is one of my favorite members here and it would be great if he would post more often..

For the mods.. if you've lost your desire to be a part of this community, why not step down and allow someone else who might have some passion for it to take over....  I can think of at least 5 people who would make excellent moderators and would probably be willing to do it..

I would rather be told by someone I have respect for who posts here,  to knock it off, you're getting out of hand... as opposed to being told by someone that rarely makes posts and only makes an appearance to correct someone.. or break up a dispute.. People are more than likely going to have better reactions to moderators they know and respect than people they don't.

No disrespect to the mods.. it's great you volunteer your time.. but if you've lost your passion.. what's the point?  If you fail to post here, what's the point?

being a mod isn't nuclear science.. it's about having a passion for something you enjoy and wanting to help others..
There is never enough time to do everything, but there is always enough time to do the most important thing

Hmmm...Maybe this was all caused by Deadly, in which case he's sitting back and laughing that his masterminded plan worked exactly as he suspected it would!
