how often should i change my workout routine?

its up to you, if you keep on getting good gains, theres no reason to, but 8 weeks is how its mostly changed.

Like 8pack said, keep going on your current routine until you can't get any more out of it. Then switch (or post to the board with your current routine and how it might be improved upon).

I like to change my routine mildly every week or two. Simple little changes like shorter rests, or switching from drop sets to failure sets, then maybe do reverse drops the next week. I like to train like this to keep my muscles guessing. But like 8pack said if you are seeing gains than you dont need to change your routine.
