will i benifit from this? - Thursday, January 08, 2009 4:13 PM ( #1 )
LIFTING:20 months
START WEIGHT:  145lbs
WEIGHT NOW: 180-185lbs
HEIGHT:5'11 -6 feet
MAX BENCH : 185lbs 2-3 reps
BF%:unknown , not too bad . dont look fat , just alittle bit of love handles

Been doing 5 day split all iso's since i started , i love it , always neglected these 3 day splits. my training partner abandoned me about 5 months ago doing some 6 month routine that changes every  3 weeks in a muscle book he bought. its  the 3 day full body routine , ive basically been oppossed cuz all the huge guys in the gym say there a waste of time , altho i guess most of em are juiced or genetically gifted. and the other thing , they dont do any isos , i hate all that " your  bis and tri will get hit secondary to other exercises so u dont need to do any iso's "
ive read some 3 day  routines that  let u pick 2 muscles to iso after the daily routine is done for 2 sets and i think 2 exercises.  but this one we do like one set one ex for  an iso , is just doesnt seem like enuf ,i dont want to shrink ,  i read something about over training , i stay in  the so called rep ranges and set ranges on all muscles except bis and tris , and those  are the two muscles that actually dont bug me and i progress my strength with.

anyway im off to the gym right now  for my first day to trying this 3 day thing with him , hes already on the 3 stage which is strength , adn theres only 4 stages , 4th being mass gaining , i think the stanges  go 3 weeks then switch  from stage 3A for 3 weeks then stage 3 B for another  3 before going onto the 4th . anyway , will i benifit from this change? im nervous that ill lose mass!!!!!!!!! he keeps braggin about how much hes gained but he looks smaller! but is stronger.  and if i benifit from this routine..... do i keep doing it for ever or alternate it with a 5 day split every few months!?!?! summer is coming and this year i wanna look good!

I don't understand what your asking? If your asking would you benifit from a 3 day full body routine then yes.
Goals by end of 2009:
Bench 205
Squat 255 ATG
Squat Clean 185

Doesn't hurt to try something out. Not like you can't go back to what you were doing before hand. Gotta find what your body responds to best IMO

well i tried it today it wasnt full body , we did chest shoulders , it was kinda wierd
first was bench ( 3 sec negatives)
1 set - just bar to warm up 45lbs
2- 95lbs 10-  12 reps
3- 115 lbs - 8-10
4- 135lbs - 6-8
5- 185- 6 reps- i got 3-4 unspotted then one more mostly spotted
6 wide grip - 115lbs 15-20 reps with feet on bench

then shoulder press with BB
1- 12 reps behind head  95lbs
2 -8 reps behind head 105lbs
3- 8 reps - 115lbs BH head
4 - 6 reps 125 lbs
5 -95lbs - in front of body  12 reps - i got 7.

then  3 ab exercises done consecutively with no rest  . only once ..
then reverse skull crushers ,  3 sets 8 -8-10 , increasing the weight each set...

they also do these " full recovery" rests , that are suppost to be 3 mintues , feels longer , im use to waiting a minute... i dunno didnt feel like it did much

and he

you basically did "push" (you'll have maxed out your tris on day one)

day 2 will be pull - back and bis

day 3 will be legs

i predict anyway?

Yeah 3 day will probably benefit you, it won't necessarily get you bigger than your 5 day split but you can definately get the same results more efficiently. Also you will probably build a lot more strength in every day movements as opposed to thing you will only ever do in the gym.
Like someone else said, give it a try and if you don't like it go back to the 5 day split.
