First Impression:

You are curling 120 lbs with a curl bar. Both hands. Weight distributed.

Dumbbells are in EACH hand.

Am I to understand that you are curling the 100 lb dumbbells... one in each hand? I could have read your post wrong.

I think he means 50 pound dumbell in each hand. Because 100 pound in each hand would be common sense he couldnt do it.

I can curl more with a bar then dumbbells.

The distribution of the weight; stronger arm helping out; there are many factors.

But if you can curl 135 lbs for reps, that doesn't mean you will pick up the 65 lbs and blow out the same reps. Although close maybe.

At one point (Max-OT days) I could curl 135 lbs for about 6 reps and do the 65 lbs for about the same.

But it's different for everybody and it makes sense what you said.

yeah same with chest work
i bench from 185 to 225 for reps this doesnt neccessarily mean i can do 90s or 100s on dumbbell presses
i believe the stabilizers and the independent working of each arm are the major determining factors
