like steroids, andro, etc... do your gains in strength/weight when supplementing with zma (let' s say for 30 days) go away. like would your bench press numbers go back to what you were benching before you started taking zma also, is the acne that severe when taking zma any other comments on zma would be helpful

ZMA is worthless. Creatine, protein, l-glutamine, mutli-vitamins are the best. The rest of the stuff is marketing materials to keep those companies in business.

I need to fix a lot in this thread. 1) ZMA is proven to increase testosterone.....in individuals deficient in zinc. If you are not, or don' t know whether you are you are wasting your time. 2) Most of the gains attributable to steroids or prohormones can be maintained with proper post cycle recovery. If this were not the case, why would anyone use them, as you must cycle their use to use them effectively and safely. 3) Glutamine is about as useful as ZMA. Tons of studies show increased repair of cell tissue that is damaged. Like the stress from lifting right? All such studies discuss are done on burn victims, not athletes. There may somedau be value as a bbing supplement, but we have yet to discover it, and I know of noone who has adequately controlled for its use and attribute significant, if any, gains to it. 4) There are so many good supplements on the market for aiding dieting and hypertrophy. It is unfortunate that some hold the opinions of SgtGuns. It comes from the number of unscruptulous companies out there. All I can say is, do your research before spending your dollars, and spend them wisely.

Thanks Twin Peak. Answers my questions. I figured some of that same stuff to be true but wasn' t positive. Been trying to more reading on the subjects. quote:
Glutamine is about as useful as ZMA. Not sure about this. Meaning, I' m in agreement that for me, ZMA is worthless and I could spend my money elsewhere. But Glutamine? I' ve always thought that does of 10-30g a day would be beneficial to all sorts of things bodybuilding? Is that not true? And if not, why not? Sounds like most studies of this supplement have been done on burn victims and people with severely compromised recovery systems but people just assume it must be good for bodybuilding and recovery? So maybe Glutamine is good for somebody who' s got a massive problem but pretty worthless for a hard day of benchpressing and some sore pecs?

Some people swear by it. I think it is all placebo. Nevertheless, its only use can be in very high quantities. Unless, you have money to burn, it gets very expensive and there are other more cost effective supplements. Someday, we may just figure out a way to use Glut in a productive, cost effective way. The day has yet to come, save your hard earned cash, and spend it somewhere else.

I have used up to 20-25 grams, post workout and noticed nothing. I' d say at least that, which is pricey. Particularly given the minimal effects.
