My main drive for starting another bodybuilding forum on the Internet was simply that I was posting away at another forum and didn't feel at all welcome. I started to feel like if I posted the same question for the 100th time, people would start bashing. I didn't feel part of a community or learning envrionment. It felt like I needed to fit in socially into some group and go with the majority of the members. After that, I talked to Kris (the owner of Supplements101) and found out he always wanted a bodybuilding forum but with his business, didn't have the time to manage it. Hence DB was born. He foots the bills and I try and run this place.

I joined db in about 2003 for the first time, and got alot of info on how weight was actually gained and lost, i got my info and nothing more, before DB I had no idea what a calorie did. but I lost a ton of weight but when I got back into the weight room I had lost almost all of my stength I had gained. So I wanted to know what happened so I remembered the site but I couldn't remember the name but I searched body building and I found it again. I forgot my username and pass so I signed up again. But mine was for weight loss and then it was about getting bigger. but IMO DB.com is awesome with a great enviroment.

I joined the site about 10 months ago, (Im only 15 years old) where i did not no what i was doing when i went to the gym - i used workout everysingle muscle at each workout for 1.5hrs. I noticed that my brother had viens popping out, and i searched it in google on how viens pop out in ur arm, and this forum was one of the top 5 links that came up. So i began browsing this forum, and noticed that what ive been doing was way off. Took my about a month to educate myself more and still learning more everyday.

I joined because at first I couldn't get bb.com forums to work, so I looked for a different bodybuilng forum. I finally got bb.com's to work, then I realized how many jerks and roid-abusing ppl there were there, so I stayed here.

I actually started 2 websites at the same time... also belong to a pro website where I feel like an ant... People are very smart here I just compare this place to the others that I go to... Diets training etc.. everything is more in depth here.. Mostly I just like the people though, I am a pretty blunt person but I don't attack people for no reason and I noticed everyone here is very respectful too.

Ive stayed here because the people are so helpful and kind, healthy and dedicated to the sport and staying healthy like i am with this and other sports, theres not alot of people like that/like me around were i live (mostly just chavs) so i get along with alot of people here thanks again Marc for a great website. . .

I joined because just like everyone else here, I have this obsession with learning everything I can about my body and how to make it look how I want. My lifetime goal is to be BIGGER FASTER AND STRONGER then anyone who stands in my way. My father has had 2 strokes and a hear attack 15 percent of his heart is non functioning right now. He is an alcoholic and a smoker and he is what drives me to be the best I can. My entire family are drunks and I don't drink anymore because I wanted to be the one to break the mold of our name from being known as drunks. I want to be known as athlete's . I guess that's why I Came here to learn and improve myself. Thank you Marc you have changed my life. Not only you but everyone here with every post i read i get smarter I don't care if it is someone bein and idiot i learn what not to do. Thank you for everything DEVON

I was doing a search for info on a supplement that a friend recommended to me and a thread in DB was the number 1 and 2 hit on Google. After reading that thread I began perusing. I was absolutely SHOCKED to find a forum filled with bodybuilders, but no attitude and belittling of those who were less advanced, built, etc. It was just the opposite of what I expected. I've joined a forum / group for every car and motorcycle I've owned (22 and 4, respectively) and every hobby I've been involved with. I've seen good forums, bad ones, and everything in between. This is definitely one of the best I've seen. Keep up the good work Marc!

i joined because i feel that this is the best bodybuilding forum on the web. i have other accounts at other forums but rarely go there. partly because it does not have the same atmosphere as this site does. i was a long time reader/guest on here and i joined to ask my more specific questions instead of finding questions that are related to mine and everyone has been very helpful and nice. joining this site was the best thing that happened to me in regards to training and dieting. i finally started training properly and dieting right after the advice the members on this site gave me. thanks marc and members of this forum! keep up the good work!

This one appealed to me the most so I lurked around for a few months and learned what I could, then registered to start an online journal.

Found it on google by chance, hung around as a guest then signed up. One of my better decisions in that I have learned an incredible amount of information, and now I can use my own knowledge to help the new guys, or even the more seasoned members when a question arises.

THe other forum I post on is maxima.org which ive been on for years and there are a ton of complete assholes on there. I know what you mean marc by the repost thing. Maxima.org is notorious for its 'repost nazis' which will bash and flip out on any newbies who ask something thats already been asked because they havent searched for the information. Its truely a disgrace, this is such a clean board.

Solid board, which to me is essential because I barely talk to anyone when I am at the gym and I need to know what to take and do in there. The learning process never stops, so boards like this are important to update oneself on the latest developments in the weightlifting world. Good job on running a clean, family board that is relatively easy on the flaming, Marc David!

I mainly joined because I wanted to ask about getting some freeweight equipment, from there it kind of branched off into other reasons, like questions, physique area access, off-topic area, etc, etc. The forum also feels more like a community and not a crowded web forum.
Three week keto test run Started July 19 It will work, or I'm done dieting.

Easy answer: First of all there is great advise and discussion on body building subjects. Secondly and most important to me, is the amount of respect on this board that each member gives the other. Sure it gets a little huffy at times, but no one personally flames the other for thier views. Thirdly you make some good friends as your posting goes on. WD
