when to swim
-
Wednesday, September 03, 2008 11:50 PM
So I wanna include swimming into my exercises after being motivated by the great michael phelps. I was wondering when I should include swimming into my weekly workout? I hear it mainly works on ur chest, so should i do it the same day i work on my chest? Or does it matter if i swim the day after i work on my chest.

I swim occasionally. Although I do quite a significant amount of laps, I still consider it as a recreational activity. It can be considered cardio though... I would suggest a few laps after any workout (except legs... i tend to get calf cramps swimming after a leg workout, it could just be me though..).
It's times like these, you learn to live again...

Swimming is great exercise, good cardio, and just generally being in water is relaxing for your muscles. Even a casual swim around a pool without doing laps for a while expends quite a bit of energy. I recommend it if you're looking to cut particularly. If you wanna swim, I recommend post workout on some day more than anything. Doesn't really matter what day you do it on. - I'd probably recommend the day you feel is the biggest pain in the arse to get through just so you have something to look forward to by the end of it.
