Boyrancher- My knees crack and pop all the time when I'm doing squats. As long as there's no pain, and your legs aren't about to give out on you, it's totally natural. Don't let that stop you from feeling comfortable at all.

Not really depends on the fast/slow twitch fiber ratio. I've know people who can rep out curls/presses for days at a weight but can't rep once at a weight 40% higher. Just depends on how they're built and/or how they train. Paul

I was an endurance athelete in college and about 9 years total, so the slow twitch theory sounds accurate. I am sure I could max out a bit higher if I worked specifically on my max. I think it has a lot to do with getting used to the weight. Acclimation is probably the word for it. The last time I had tried a max bench press was about 8 years ago and I was about 30 pounds lighter. I just wanted to see if I could get the six pancakes up. I got 305 and then missed 315.

hehe..noo.. in the weight room i notice when i put the plates up, ppl usually stop what they're doing to watch me. I noticed though I cant live over 305 at the ymca, but at football weight room in front of my coaches its not that hard. Im sure someone else at 165(16 year old) can lift more then me??
