Max OT? You should drop the weight pretty nicely with that, the right nutrition and cardio. What are your goals muscle-wise?

for the max do we mean just 1 rep or an actual set of at least 4 reps?
when i mention my max for bench ... i've managed to do like 4 by myself of those (but that's only when i'm fresh in the gym, not doing anything else for chest before).

Age: 17 (eighteen in march)
height: 167 cm.. (that's 5 feet 6 (HAHA< I"M A MIDGET))
weight: 125 (on good days :D)
Max bench: 145 (a plate and 5lbs each side) ( i hope that's a total of 145 lol)
but that was like september, after which i started doing high reps... i'll find out friday when i do my chest max ot style, hopefully i can do 145 as my regular weight now.
Preacher with ez bar: 20lbs on each side with bar... (that was personal highest, i did it max ot style)
Squats: 90 lbs... i still don't feel confident with my form, so i dont' push it, althought it should be easy as i bike alot in summer, and run for track team. (but then again i run long distance, so i doubt that would help in doing a max)
Shoulders dumbells: 40 in each hand, god that felt good...
i think max ot is half about mental, i mean lifting that much weight makes me want to work out even more...

speaking of benchpress..
is it just me or... the plate is the most intimidating thing? like it took me ages to get over 135... just the plates look so scary (when lying on bench and looking at them)
(especially from perspective of a guy who used to do 25's on each side) lol

heeeeeay now! I'm the same height. I don't consider myself a midget at all! I don't even consider myself vertically challenged! Look around, yeah there's a lot of tall guys, but there's also no shortage of short ones either!

Yeah, I just started 10 months ago, and mine are getting downright scary compared to even 2 months ago!

Damn! You'll be coming close to the 500 club. Amazing. And here I'll be sooo happy to do 315 lbs.

Do keep us posted. That is awesome!

So would you consider yourself more of a powerlifter or a bodybuilder, BigLug? Either way, posting a pic on the "critique my physique" forum would be a cool idea for motivating the rest of us.

NICE!

Crap dude.. at 14 I don't think I could have done 60 lbs. I know in junior college I was around maybe.. 100 lbs? Maybe.

Great job. At 28 you'll be 510 or something.

wow... you guys started benching with weights?
i remember i started with simply the bar, i think i was 14 ... i used to do just the bar... heck i loooked pretty stupid, but whatever, if i had been too scared to do that , i probably would have never gotten above that. plus i changed gyms anyways :D so nobody knows :paranoid:
