what effect would it have - Monday, January 01, 2007 3:26 PM
Hi there im a really skinny guy looking to put on weight of muscle but i have also being asked to do a marathon what affect would training for a marathon have on my weight and muscle growth.

If you are serious about competeing in the marathon, then you are going to have to put aside your muscle building goals until after the race.
 
Unfortunately the sort of training you are going to have to do is going to strip the weight off you (which is obviously beneficial for the race) So if you are dedicated to the marathon, then train for that. Then afterwards get into your weight training with full effect!

However I do believe that there are might be some marathon/long distance running oriented work out...
