Will you have to do all Three Lifts in the same video? If I attempt to get the minimum requirement I will have to spread the lifts out over days. Bench is not a problem. But with my Back, Deads and Squats will be two different days. As long as the Doc doesn't know I'm doing this.....You only live once.

Personally I would max everything the same day. but thats all I would really do at the gym, besides the respective warm up sets. Thats how we used to do it in high school for football, I dont really know any other way. /shrug

So where are we at administration? How are our suggestions for the legal issues, there up the flag pole do we get a salute? I am kinda jazzed about the idea myself, I would be probably at a point to post a vid before Christmas.

I like the idea about a forum called "Critique my Lift." I can add that but I'd like to have a few videos ready to go so there's at least something in the forum once I create it. I will also create a "How to" thread showing people how to add youtube videos to posts inside their thread (so the video plays inside the thread on DB). If you have a video ready for the forum, send me a PM. Once I have a few PM's I'll create the forum and PM you back letting you know you can post it. In regards to the clubs, we can't have so many different clubs. If we end up with 8 different clubs for each group (male teens, female teens, adult males, adult females, silver males, silver females) we end up with 32 different groups on DB. When a user wants to apply to a group they'll need to sort through 32 different groups to find the one they should join (which is too many IMO). I'm thinking it's better to just have groups by weight class. We don't sort by male or female, and we don't sort by age. If you lift 300lbs, you're in that group. Males, females, old and young, can all join the same groups. This helps simplify the process and we still get pretty much the same results. The problem with groups right now is once you apply for a group an admin needs to approve or deny it. I don't have the time to keep up to date on approving or dening people. So if you applied lately, and you haven't been accepted yet, that's why. I'm talking with the developer and doing some testing of my own to see if I can automate the process. This way, if you apply for a group, you'll be in that group automatically. This way, no one needs to spend time monitoring the system and approving or denying members from groups. Anyone have any thoughts on what I said above?

Why don't you just assign people as group managers? Can't they accept people into the group?

How about groups for big 3 as a percentage of bw? It helps balance out the male/female thing. As in a guy who would be in the 800lb club and weighed 180 would be 444% bw so maybe in the 400% club. A woman who weighs 120 and would be in the 500 club would be 416%...also in the 400% club...I don't know exactly. Maybe someone can buff out my thoughts... Then we're measuring strength and not just who weighs the most. Because it's also not too even to pit a 185lb guy against a 345lb guy.

i.e. 200% (for newbs and women who aren't interested in powerlifting) 250% 300% 350% 400% 450% 500% 550% 600+% means averaging double bw in all lifts. Thoughts?

I like the just if you can make it into that group male/female/teen whatever then your in that group. It makes it a little simpler. As for RC's idea, i like it but it just doesnt have the glamore and achievement I think that the lb clubs have. I think its a little to complicated for most people, but im not opposed to it. As for the critque my lift section thats awesome we may see it implemented. I am not currently at the point in my training where I can take any videos of 1rm, but I soon may be so Ill have to remember to pm you when I do.

Big public thank you to ripped and linda for helping out, and answering my plea : ) THANK YOU LADIES!!!!!!! Weight classes... they would have to be male female, in my mind, as my math for beginners has proven to me.. ladies are going to lift a third less than males.. if their experence is comparable. They'll never hit the target. And that would lead to a billion clubs.. However, slap me in the face Nmoney I think you started something! I am pretty confidant that we we all figure out a way to get this moving. Thank You Kris, for working on this idea, and trying to implament it for us! we appreciate all your efforts.

we did the weight clubs back in the high school football days ha. i like the idea of having a male and female set of clubs. Adding in teens just makes it seem pointless because everyone will go in to a club and their will a billion different clubs. starting at 800 or maybe 700 sounds reasonable and gives the younger members something to shoot for over time. Nmoney is right that lbs clubs have more glamor to them and it isnt as complicated as the percent clubs lol

yeah we did it in high school and it always made us strive for that club, or that next club. I really think it can be a great motivator, and can help a lot of people progress and set goals. Thanks hardway :), I would like to give a big public thank you also to Kris for working on this idea with us, I appreciate it.
