wanting to add 1 day - Saturday, September 12, 2009 6:21 PM ( #1 )
Hey,

Currently i workout 3 days a week (Mon,Wed,Fri) and i do a full body type workout... I only really concentrate on compound movements... So squats deads bench pull ups etc etc... I'm wanting to add another day to my workout. Not sure how i should split my days. i was woundering if any of you could assist me with that. Give me some tips on what you guys do . . . I'd still like to do full body workouts... I weight around 165 right now. My goal is to gain some more lean muscle mass (as much as i can get, i dont have a weight limit) I wanna keep the more athletic look. I understand this has more to do with nutrition and i'm currently trying to get that straight. I weight 140 last year at this time and i've increased 25 lbs in 1 year !!!! (not all lean just added some meat to the bones) pretty happy about that, so now the rest of my weight i'd like to be lean.... I'm 22 and 5 feet 8 inches tall btw.... Any tips at all are all appreciated ! Thanks in advance

What about a push pull day ... one day would be a volume day and the other a heavy day ... I know the basics like putting in bench squats dead didps pull ups rows and over head press, anyone else with any other workouts that should be put in there???

i agree with mvp, i am currently following a lower/upper 4 day split have found it really good so far.

have been hitting 5x5 on lifts such as front/back squats, deads, glute ham raises, bench, weighted pullups and dips. and then padding that out with rep work on flys, face pulls, calf raises, db rows.

the rep ranges i would suggest you look at would be 5x5 and 3x8 as a start and see which you prefer.
