vegetarian bulk

i know i know im lazy. no just really busy. I'm going to do my homework but i could really use some help. I have been slacking on eating/lifting due to getting really sick and then a visit from the gf :) i've lost about 15lbs but now im ready to get back to work and bulk up. i cant believe i fluctuated so much in just a month :( anyways i am considering going vegetarian (for health and the simple fact that my gf is and it makes life a little more simple) but im fearful that i wont get enough protein intake. i cant eat some nuts because of allergies. suggestions? im going to do my hw this week but i figured why not start out here.

Assuming you can eat soybeans... go for tofu. Tastes like absolute ass, but it's chock full of protein and has all (or most) of the essential amino acids. Don't believe the hype that you can make tofu taste like whatever you're cooking it with though, it still tastes like balls. Nutritional yeast and freshwater algae also contain good amounts of protein. Brown rice and black beans go well together and both contain good amounts of protein. Another good thing to look into is hemp seed protein.

I deliberately tracked my protein for a couple of weeks, and had no trouble getting protein at 25% of my diet, via eggs, milk, cheese, yogurt, soy, nuts, supplements & misc. other sources. Without a morning & night protein shake, I would not have made it though.

Chasm378 just sneak steaks in when your GF isn't looking Seriously man. Going vegetarian because your girlfriend is? Rofl, that's a terrible idea. Women already suck the life out of men, don't let them start taking your meat away too. If you want to be a vegetarian because YOU want to, then do it. Don't do it because your girlfriend's one and it'll make things easier, that's a terrible reason.

We don't eat any fish at home, because why on earth would we cook 2 different meals. Then, our spawn can eat whatever they want when we're out of the house. Presumably, the OP is talking about a similar sort of arrangement, to make it easier at home and with shared meals, but would still eat his own way when out & about. I think thats a sound compromise & arrangement for a serious relationship.

obviously im not doing anything just because of my girlfriend. there are the health reasons as well. like i said i had been wanting to try it and my gf gave me a reason. I feel like eating is an important part of a relationship. you spend a lot of time doing it. if its healthy and my gf is vegetarian why not give it a go? i actually did feel less weighed down towards the end of the week. its unfortunate yet that you think women suck the life out of men. Id be sad to see the selection of women you date. my gf is amazing and adds nothing but value to my life. and for the record she had nothing to do with my decision, didnt even ask. though i must say i think she was delightfully surprised that id try it out.

to what you just said - my "theory of food compatibility:" The people in a relationship must have similar taste in food. If one person eats only steak & potatos, and the other eats only indian & thai food - its not going to work. And its not so much the food itself, as much as those differences frequently also mirror other differences, whether religious, moral, idealogical, health, entertainment preferences, clothes, or whatever.
