ugh ... supplement help
-
Wednesday, February 01, 2006 10:33 PM
Ok, I'm getting back into bodybuilding after a long break. There is so much information out there about supplements its ridiculous, and I do not know who to trust. I'm going to ask some of you un-biased regulars as I think I will get some real answers. My goals: 1) get in better shape 2) get stronger 3) lose body fat Supplements that I think i should be taking 1) whey protein ( www.nutrabio.com has the cheapest bulk product I could find. I am not sure what the best quality product is which is most important to me) 2) creatine (I heard muscle tech cell-tech was very good, but I am open for suggestions, on what product and what supplier.) 3) glutamine 4) multi-vitamins Am I missing anything? All suggestions would be great.

First I'd ask: how is your diet? Are you eating 90% or more clean? Because if you're not, then the only supplements worth considering in the beggining, IMHO, are protein supplements and a multi-vitamin. I suggest a multivitamin made principally from food sources, often from yeast. If your diet's clean, then add the fancy stuff. Creatine and glutamine are both reasonable, and even if glutamine's effects are hard to verify, the stuff is cheap. Some guy's seem to see a correlation between creatine and progress. IMO, I don't see anything else worth adding. the best supplement is your diet, followed by sleep and your workouts :)

alright thanks... My diet as of now isn't very good, however I really want to give a shot at getting cut so I realize I'm going to have to eat very healthily. I have one question about diet pop, is that okay to drink? I have been a heavy soda drinker and I know I need to cut this out.

drink soda too much, no abs! Check the nutrition section, there are some great meal plans listed on there.
