Hi there everybody! I'm training at home because of a lack of a training partner in the gym. Now my question: Is it best to put a lot of weight on the bar and try how many times you can lift it... Or should you make the bar such a weight that you can do 20 lifts, 3 times in a row? Excuse me when my English failes, I'm just a Dutchman.

if u r looking for muscle growth then doing a light weight for 20reps is not going to help. u have to do a more challenging weight say one that u can do 10times or 8times or some people choose to do about 5reps. bottom line is if u want muscle growth u will have to do a challenging weight. btw, how long have u been working out?
