you guys ever heard of a drill where you pin up a wall poster will nine dots on it. using the nine dots as a target, you would strike them in various combinations to work on your speed and accuracy? im not a very good boxer myself would i would like to hear opinions out there.

yes its true that if you focus on a specific small area when boxing the punches will be better. I dont know about a poster on a wall though. How are you going to strike a wall?

I preferred mitts more than anything as a boxer, I found boxing shields to be just as effective and helped me enhance my efficiency of movements around someone charging towards me. Push against the wall using your calf muscles, it does wonders for your overall punch. Sparring all together goes a lot further than education from a source of books, just knowledge alone goes very little unless you learn how to use it.

when you state, "Push against the wall using your calf muscles, it does wonders for your overall punch." do you mean lean into your punches to add more force?

You push off your dominant calf when you punch, right? Get in that position, as if you're posing for a picture of you punching something.. only push your right fist (if you're right handed).. again the wall... push against that as hard as you can for about 30 seconds.. it will increase the efficiency of your calves.

for the second part of your question, yes you should definitely lean into your punches as it produces more force.

for speed and accrucy you need a sparring partner..or glove partner..never heard of the nine point poster..it dont hit back or move..or put them spots on a heavy bag..and pound.
