high glycemic carbs and high fat foods should never be eaten together, your grapes and nut combo.

Unless I am mistaken, you don't need the protein shake. Protein shakes are for bulking up muscles and since you are trying to lose weight, you don't need that. On your workout routine, do more cardio. I think your diet seems to be pretty good on the overall. -Mike

Protein serves as a nutrient to held restore/repair/maintain muscle which is especially important during a cutting phase. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I didn't see a workout routine posted, but hopefully cardio is a component.

Mistaken, indeed. You might replace it with BCAAs, but if not, leave the protein in there. As for the almonds and grapes, I don't see a problem with it. It's not like it's excessively indulgent. There's very little chance that much of it will be stored as fat, assuming the portions are right. http://www.discussbodyb...11175&mpage=1#111175

Looks good. Lift heavy weights to maintain your muscle. And if you are losing weight, then you know the diet is working.

Ah alright. Thanks for the corrections. So protein is important either way then for both bulking and cutting. Are there any significant differences in direction on how you take them depending on your goal? -Mike
