reminds me of the time I passed out while power cleaning, broke my nose and no one bothered to help. if I counted right you got 19 though, not too shabby.

Jonb, That was cool! Thanks for letting us laugh at your expense. I'll have to watch it again to see how I can extricate myself if necessary! Thanks!

getting stuck without a spotter wasn't that funny, but what was is how you hammered out 19 reps with pretty much no problem and them get stuck on the last one... on your 19th you looked as if could easily do another 2-3 with no problem..
There is never enough time to do everything, but there is always enough time to do the most important thing

Yea i hate when you have a bad day like that and had a very similar instance. I was doing 5 pounds more than i did the week before (but i had done it before) on bench for 5 reps and i couldnt get the 5th so some random guy helped me get it off. Next set i dropped ten pounds and missed it again which i guess i would attribute to missing the first working set. Anyhow the guy just watched me struggle so i had to do the same exact thing you did there except i kind of lost my grip when kicking up and basically threw it into the dumbbell rack and made a bunch of noise.

I guess it is a serious thing, but I don't know how dangerous at that weight (although that's more than I've ever pressed). I had to say, "Guys, a little help please!" once and two good samaritans rescued me. I remember growing up with a weight bench in the basement. I can't remember how many times I couldn't complete a lift. I probably wiggled it down my chest to my waist, sat up, moved my legs out of the way, and lowered it to the bench. I might have even just let one side or the other of the barbell drop to the floor and then just have to deal with the left over end. I'm laughing at how embarrassing that technique would be in a gym with people watching. Ha! And I've rescued a few guys. It happens.

Oh man, I feel for you man. I'm always embarrased to go to the gym because everyone can lift more than me, and one time i couldn't get 5 reps of 95 (This was about 5 months ago and i've since proggesed to repping 105-110) A old man had to help me. I got so embarrased, i called my mom and told her to pick me up

Laughing is much healthier! :)

Ya, that happened to me before too. My gym is always dead though, so no one was around either. I did exactly the same thing you did in order to get the weight off me. You did make that 225 look like it was nothing.

It was a good sport of you to put the vid up. NM's incident is the type that reminds me to always respect the weight even if you are not to fear it.

You are damn strong for your body weight. I believe if you would have locked out on each rep you could have gotten a few more, maybe, everyone is usually different from that but usually that is the case. Good job none the less, I know how you feel having weight drop on you - the first time I maxed at 270 I had it fall on me, I workout alone though so having weight fall on me is almost a frequent thing.
