Forget supplements for now- What you need to do is get a proper diet together. You'll be eating five or six meals a day, with the exact amount of calories you need in order for your body to grow muscle, coming from the right sources of protein, carbs and fats. So- First, head to our nutrition forum and check out a post near the top called "Calculate expenditure". There, you'll learn how to figure out how many calories a day your body needs to grow. See, everyone needs a different amount of calories per day in order for their bodies to maintain their current weight healthily. In order to add muscle to that, you have to eat MORE calories each day- This post will help you find out how many you need. Once you've got that number, it's not enough to just estimate how many calories you're actually eating- And, it's not enough to eat anything you want in order to get those calories. You need to eat the best possible sources of protein, carbs and fats in order to gain nice, lean muscle mass. Once you've got your caloric number, head over to Fitday.com and use their database of food to find out how many calories you're currently getting, and from which sources. Then, take a look around our nutrition forum for a meal plan to get a basic idea of the types of food you should be eating- You can go back to Fitday.com and enter that food to find out how much of it you'll need to eat in order to reach your caloric goals. Remember, try to spread that amount of food over five or six meals a day- Eating three large meals a day isn't the same thing. Your body can only digest so much at once, and if you eat too much in one sitting, your body will convert a lot of it into fat.
