It could be,

does it hurt when u r doe or while u r doing it.

If it hurts during it may be more severe. But afterwards probably is just a severe case if tendonitis. I have elbow tendonitis and it just hurt really bad after I got done doing reps.

adjust exercises as needed until it heals up and use icing and RICE philosophy.
Of course you should have taken this to the doc first.

No need to panic. Its not tendonitis like the others have suggested.

This is a very common complaint. The best way to explain it is that you are experiencing shin splints in your forearm bones. This is even more so if your bones are still 'soft' i.e. if you are under 18/9 years of age.

I suspect that you are trynig to lift a reasonably heavy weight for you when you are getting these pains, and you have small forearms compared to your arms (biceps/triceps)

Just ice it after your workout and concentrate more or start doing forearm exercises - dumbell, barbell curls, farmer walks etc..

Youll find that increasing the muscular bulk in your forearms will eventually lead to these pains going away in the future.

Lynx hit the nail on the head...

Tendonitis is caused when the casing of a tendon becomes inflamed (usually from repeated movements). Tendonitis, while it is a sharp pain, can be relived by stretching out the inflamed tendon. It will also hurt quite badly if you press on your inner forearm where it meets the bicep. This injury, while not major, if left untreated for long periods of time can result in tendon surgery.

Shin splints describe any pain between the ankel and knee. Its like saying I have a headache.

The cause of shin splints is usually overused muscle, either an acute injury or DOMS (delayed-onset muscle soreness). The muscle pain is caused by any activity that involves running or jumping. An individual not accustomed to running may experience pain in the shin muscles the next day even after a single, short bout of intense Running. There may even be immediate discomfort in the muscles from a build-up of lactic acid.

Shin pain may also be the result of connective tissue such as periostitis, which is an inflammation of the periosteum. The pain may be caused by a stress fracture in the bone. Pain in the lower leg may also be referred from a distant area of the body, such as pressure on the sciatic nerve near the hip joint. If a bone problem is suspected, a bone scan can be useful in confirming the diagnosis.

While I know that the pain is not in your legs, the same applies. Just Rest those muscule groups, use de-flamitory methods (Ice, rubs, ect) and see a doctor if problems persist.

i get the EXACT same thing you described.. mostly after curls.. it feels like your bone is gonna break and it kinda tingles..  i HIGHLY doubt it is tendonitis cause i think that would be in the elbow more.  for anyone who needs a better description of where the pain is.. atleast for me, if you place your right arm palm down on the desk, you can feel the bone on the right and the pain is a little underneath the right side about 8-10 inches down my arm from my wrist.  I'm pretty sure thats about where it is, im doin biceps today so if i described it a little wrong ill correct it in about an hour.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head there, i'm 16 and my forearms are pretty small compared to my bi/triceps, i'll try icing it and doing more forearm excersizes, thanks for the help!

Hey Diesel Man,
While Lynx and Pwnt both have good points and could be right about certain things, I'm a physical therapist (and former power lifter) who sees A LOT of tendinitis patients.  There are many different (and useless) treatments out there, but if it is tendinitis, eccentric exercises have proved most effective in my clinic.  Feel free to check out my website www.absolutept.com, and read more about my tendinitis treatment...there could be some really useful things in there for you.

I know this is old and sorry to dig up an old thread but have any of you guys with pains in the past in the forearm area get it better? It occured to me to check here before I start lifting again. I've taken a break from weight lifting for about a week and half now, im dying from withdrawal I need to lift! It feels better putting icy hot and massaging it from time to time, but when I go back should I add forearm exercises to my routines? I also read somebody talking about using the ice and rice routine if anybody could explain that a bit more? The pain occurs also the same way you guys describe it happening, when doing bicep exercises seems to be the biggest problem.

Just use ice. The pain isnt usually permanent but if it still hurts, rest some more. Ease into lifting again slowly. Add forearm exercises. Keep good form. And dont push the pain threshold. Be sensible and you should be just fine.
