strange pains

i started lifting in sept 2005. i lift by myself so i don't go crazy on the weight, but enough to challenge myself. i've noticed that when i do curls and pullups i have pains in my forearms that feel specific strands of muscle...if that makes any sense. they only hurt in certain positions and not the entire movement. for instance...when i'm doing curls...it hurts at the 10 oclock position. for pull ups it hurts at 50-70% of the movement. i've tried different bars and the pain is different as far as less intense, but it is still there. i got to thinking that this pain is not accute, and likely chronic...will it ever get better? or am i way off??
