step by step transformation - Thursday, July 23, 2009 1:42 PM ( #1 )

I made this last night so i might as well post it.  Its a step by step of the past 2 years from top left to bottom right.  The 2nd back pic isnt in order and goes right before the last picture.

haha look at the bottom left how fat i got on my second bulk.  dayum.

You can also see in the second row where I cut too hard and lost muscle because I ate absolutely no carbs for at least a month.  I didnt know about carbloads back then.

First pic I was probably in the upper 150s.

As for calories I have no idea, I use the mirror and hunger to tell me where maintenance is but its probably a little over 3k.

My legs are naturally bigger than everything else but I dont ever work them with volume so I could probably gain a few more pounds on them that I dont care to.  Id say the size gains in my upper body has caught up to them and made them pretty proportional...i should post shots...my ass is also enormous haha.

It might just be me, but you look like you are getting younger as the pics go on (I know that's not the case, just saying).  Good work.

RS,
In your avi and your other pics, your obliques look strange to me.  Mine look diagonal going up from belly button to armpits (not exactly, but you get the idea).  Mine are sort of rib looking.  Your obliques seem to consist of an upper and lower pad of muscle.  Serratus looks sensational, btw.  Have you noticed your obliques looking different than other guys?  How do you work them?

Hmm, i dont really know what you mean by rib looking but they seem similar to most guys' to me.  I mean everyones are a little different.  Mine are really big though, most guys, even big guys dont seem to have the same oblique development as me.  I think the heavy deadlifting blew them up.

There are also 2 completely different ways to flex them, one will make them like two thick muscles down and towards your center while the other (kind of sucking them up and in) will look more like a long, edgy pad around your sides.

In your first pic, was that before you started to train? I mean if it was, you got a already pretty good build to start from. Even my body doesn't even look like that after years of training. :(

RS,
Here's what mine seem to be looking like (not me in the pic obviously).  See what I mean about the diagonal rib looking muscles?  Yours are just the first I've seen to look different.  Perhaps it's the heavy lifting.  Good workin' out!

You know, on a second look, I wouldn't mind looking all the time like you did at the top of your last bulking phase.  That bottom left photo is what I'm talking about when I say "obviously muscular, but not necessarily shredded to ribbons".

Am I the only person here who thinks most pros look better before a contest?  There's something to be said for extreme cuts and vascularity, but I don't know -the over all bigness more than compensates for any lack of vascularity, I think.

And this is coming from someone who's been below 8% body fat.  Trust me, it's not all it's cracked up to be.  For one thing, my heating bills in the winter go through the damn roof, cuz I gotta keep my place like a tropical rain forest.  I do not tolerate cold weather in the slightest.

Alas, the ladies in my area seem to have missed that memo.

My line of work doesn't attract many promising prospects, and I have no social life to speak of (which explains why I have no problem getting in a workout every day, LOL), so no.

However, if there happen to be any hot, athletic, fitness-minded, politically left-leaning brunette girls reading this who can tolerate a smart-assed vegetarian and like labradors, I am available
