just done legs today-first time in 6 months due to a torn minisculus in knee, and apart from obvious aches from getting a little excited i have what could only be described as a painful to touch area on the top of the spine, between traps,im guessing my positioning of the bar while squatting may have been off,i wasn't going too heavy 120kgs+bar!bearing in mind i have been training for 3.5 years i can't remember if i had this before....doh!any brand newbies got this or others had it?

Yes, and i have been for several months now. puts the weight across your entire back rather than the top of your traps so its less pressure per square inch. It makes the lift a bit different as well but that's a whole other topic.

i had the same problem. It would go away but come back on and off, then it stayed with me and i had to go to physical therapy for 4 months and it still hurts to this day. I have to do front squats instead of back squat or else the pain will come back 100% I think it was bad form and bad bar placement.
