Okay let me start off with the history of my shoulder. I dislocated it 4 years ago, stayed off of it for all 4 years and recently picked up bodybuilding again. It was a stage 3 dislocation. Latley, I have been having pain in it. It doesn't hurt doing all exercises, but 90% of anything I do it hurts. When I say hurt, it isn't PAIN but more of discomfort. It aches when I move it certain ways or when I just sit here typing right now. Nothing serious, but more of a annoyance. The pain is my shoulder mostly and radiates down my back, even my neck, and bicep/tricep. I have been working out with this pain for at least 2 months, and it doesn't affect my gains but it does bother me. I have decided to stop working out becuase I didn't want to damage anything moresevere. I have been to many doctors and one reccomended pysical therapy. Will this work or am I just wasting my time? I have been letting it heal for 5 days now and I am on antiflamitory meds for it, but it doesnt seem to be getting any better. I guess I'm just really impatient, lol. How long does it take for you to start loosing strenght or my figure? Should I still be eating my regular 160 grams of protein a day? Also, can I do cardio or should I stay completly away from any type of pyscial activity? Oh yeah, I also got X-Rays and everything looked normal. Which is why I think it's more of a pulled muscle maybe or even a strain. Thanks!

Stick with dumbbell movements. The body will compensate and build muscle on both sides of the body, even if only one side is worked. It won't be as much, obviously, but it would get your shoulder back in shape without the risk of injuring it before it gets strong. Work your good side hard, and work you injured side with what it can handle until it can handle more load. You may want to try using exercise bands as well as they give load without any weight and therefore you can stop an exercise at any time by dropping it.

So I don't need to rest? Just continue to workout? I should also add, the pain started when I started doing MP and Barbell presses. I belive the restricted ROM while doing those exercises caused something to go bad in my shoulder. I only do dumbell weights now, with everything.
