Tips: Hold a barbell with both hands in front of you with your hands a little wider than shoulder width apart. Keep your feet at shoulder width. Stand straight up with the bar hanging at arms length. Droop shoulders down as much as possible to start. Raise your shoulders up as far as you can go. You can also rotate your shoulders as you go up, going in a semicircular motion from front to rear. Then slowly return to the starting position. Can also be down with dumbbells.

You should not rotate your shoulders when shrugging as this can injury your rotator cuff.  Just an up and down motion and hold at the top and squeeze.  Let the others guys ruin there body with improper form

it don't matter much the weight you're doing bro. as long as you do the proper form that's all that matters for now. increasing the weight will come eventually. i love big traps too. the guy i look up to when it comes to traps is Nasser el-Sonbaty.

when i started shrugging with dumbells years ago, i used 30 lb db's. other guys in my gym would do either 80 to 100 lbs each. BUT, they rotated their shoulders...then after a while i increased gradually till i could do havy sets without compromising form.so i really agree with jordan079, let the other guys ruin their shoulders hehe. cheers mate!
