No. No. And most importantly, NO! There's only one thing to do in the face of advice like that: in the immortal words of Monty Python, "RUN AWAAAAAYYY!!!" First of all, vascular definition (prominent veins) is determined mostly by body fat. The less body fat you carry, the more visible those veins will be. Second, age and genetics also play a huge part. The longer you work out, the more "muscle maturity" you build, the more those veins will show. Finally, most people are reporting good results with mild vasodilator supplements like Nitric Oxide. If you already have some definition, this is a good place to start. Never compromise your water intake to dial in cuts -dehydration is no joke, and it can completely ruin your progress. Messing with your potassium balance is not advisable either, because doing so has serious cardiac implications. You can induce a mild heart attack if you don't know what you're doing. Finally, excess sodium will cause you to retain water -not very conducive to showing off veins- and is implicated in hypertension (high blood pressure). You weren't too specific, so I'm hoping the "something about sodium" you heard was to stay away from it, LOL. Hope this helps, and I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm dumping on you, but this is serious business. Don't do anything radical with your electrolite balance -the veins will come with time and hard work

I hear ya! I finished a chest workout the other day that left me with a very pleasant first. I hit that side chest pose in the mirror, and cranked down on it like I was trying to crush a billiard ball in my hands. Freakin' veins were poppin' out of my neck and delts like a blasted road map! Ba-BOOOOOOM! Had to pry myself away from the mirror, LOL. Of course, it faded within the hour, but I'll be jazzed if I can get even a THIRD of that definition to stick.
