shoulder clicking?
-

so a long time ago( 6 months) my shoulder started doing this clicking thing. Whenever i raise my (left) arm straight up as if doing front raises and asi lower it you can hear a click/pop sound. It doesnt rreally hurt but its annoying. I went to the doctor like 5 months ago and they didnt say much. Just said to take some ibuprofen or advil or whatever it is. Im not sure if it is really effecting my workouts really but i just thought id see what you guys think it might be. It could be a rotator cuff problem. Any ways to fix this would be appreciated. thanks

ok ima give you the low down cause ive gone through it twice. Frist off a clicking noise means the joint is not moving like it should be or this is scar tissue from heavy exercises on your rotator cuffs. You need to do rotator cuff exercises and do thumb down raises at about 45 degrees and just becareful with heavy shoulder press and heavy bench cause it only takes a split second to mess your rotator cuff up and it will affect your lifting for a very long time compared to waiting 1-2 months till the popping stops how often are you doing chest/shoulders and how is your posture?

I have the same thing mate, arms go up, arms go down, shoulders click. I don't really know what can be done about it, but I'm sure it isn't due to incorrect form or posture on exercises. Don't know what causes it though. I would say if you wana try do something about it (which personally I'm not arsed) then try cod liver oil capsules.

it realy depends, i think, but mabey you should just lighten the load just for this time, im sure it wont hurt. my left shoulder is feeling questionable right now, so im going to do 10X6 today instead of the heavy low set scheme in used to doing. a nice mixup. remeber, injurys suck realy bad, realy realy bad. did i mention injurys suck, expesualy shoulder ones. they suck. so dont get injured, taking the time to avoid it will be worth it.

just keep lifting then and if it starts hurting you have to stop or your prolly mess your rotator cuff up

Honestly i would just keep lifting unless it hurts but you should go to a doctor.

I have the same problem with my lower back, right shoulder blade, and my left elbow. I asked my chiropractor about them and he said that they are just ligaments that are popping out of their "groove" and it is nothing to worry about.

Creation ya its nothing to worry about then scar tissure starts building up next thing you know you can barely move your joint thats quite the exaggeration it is not uncommon at all for a ligament/tendon to snap back into its place while doing an exercise or movement, and its hardly going to cause scar tissue that would limit your range of motion or ability to move unless there is pain/swelling/ ect ect.

My left shoulder does click or pop when i do a full circle with my arm. It bugs me so i try avoiding doing stretching using circular movements. Its probably due to flexibility problem, or rotator cuff strength. My left shoulder is way weaker than my right, and my right shoulder doesnt click.

ok, i am currently recovering from a rotator cuff injury. if ur shoulder clicks, go see a physio. DO NOT ignore it, it DOESNT go away by itself. 2 causes. 1. The clicking is the tendon popping or clicking over and back across the joint. if u lift large weights while doin this, its POSSIBLE u will tear it. You dont want this to happen. 2. You have weak stabiliser muscles in your shoulder, usually as a result of using the smith machine or having bad bench form. This causes the same clicking or popping as part 1. Having been through this twice myself, i recommend getting it sorted as soon as u notice it, as the problem only grows. AS ALWAYS, PREVENTION IS THE BEST CURE. when benching, always keep ur shoulder blades pulled back, use ur chest not ur shoulders, keep good form, and always use free weights, not machines or the smith. I'm not a physio, im open to correction, this is just my experienced perception
After a few months: Weight: 177lbs 6 reps Deadlift: 300lbs Squat: 240lbs Bench: on hold. Rotator cuff injury
