(Marc David)

 Over time.. things change.

Meaning the protein make up is not the same 2 years later as it is today. I don't know of any cases either but the potency is not the same as the vitamins have been exposed to sunlight and air for a longer time.

The expiration dates are put on there to tell you what the useful shelf life is for a supplement.

While it isn't worthless or going to make you sick, it will not be as potent and as effective as something that is fresh.

So it's not just there for a business only. It is there for the consumers to let them know if the product is guaranteed to work just as well as Day 1.

In the case above, it's not. It's expired.
RE: EXPIRED Vitamins...OK to take? (wheatgerm)

One of my friends had a supplement store that went out of business. Now he is stuck with a bunch of expired vitamins (about 1-2yrs old).

He asked me if I wanted any of them for free...such as: Fish Oil, Kava, Multi-Vitamins, Flax seed oil, Anti-oxidents, and many more...

Is it safe to take these? Ive heard that it's ok...just the potency of the pills are weaker.

Can anyone give me some insight on this? What is ok to still take? or what to stay away from?
