The effects of the muscle relaxent (the name to the contrary) are really quite mild, and not noticeable in any way except that they stop the spasms in my back. However, since they obviously interfere with muscle contraction, I am curious about how the drug affects weightlifting.

RE: Muscle Relaxent (djduhon)

Wow... I'd definitely call the doc back and ask him that question, he may advise you not to lift at all... let me know what he says.

D

Muscle Relaxent (mls0066)

This is not precisely a supplement question, but I think this is probable the most appropriate place for it.

I was recently given a prescription for a muscle relaxent, methocarbamol (the commercial name is Robaxin) for back spasms. My questions is, what effect, if any, will this medication have on my training? (I know, I should have asked my doctor, but I didn't). Does it affect how much I can lift? Does it affect muscle growth? Any insight would be appreciated -- I'm sure that someone here has had the same problem.

Thanks.
