Can't even turn my head. (Lynx100)

a common problem also seen in people who sleep with their neck turned in one direction and suddenly in the middle of their sleep, turn their neck the other way to change their sleeping position.

What will help is making sure you have a good pillow - shouldnt be too soft and it should support your neck so as to maintain a 'natural angle' of your head.

Ive had the same problem before and it was just a muscle strain. Theres very few, if not none, ligaments in the neck itself. Its either muscle, bone or the spinal cord/brainstem that you could damage when you hurt your neck. Doesnt sound serious as nothign else seems to be wrong but a little soreness. Light stretches, some ice (when the injury initially occurs) plus patience seems to work in 99% of cases.
RE: My neck is killing me! Can't even turn my head. (Drakarn)

TWO YEARS!? wow...well I hope it wont hurt for that long lol, the pain is kinda going away little by little now and becoming lighter. Hopefully soon I'll be able to turn my head lol and keep my head straight and not sort of leaning to the side.

RE: My neck is killing me! I have to contort myself all sorts of weird ways to get it to pop.

RE: My neck is killing me! Also reflect the pro's and con's of of your results, take what you have learned and toss the rest.

RE: My neck is killing me! Can't even turn my head. (Misanthropy)
Exactly. Since its been 12 weeks+, its time for a whole 7 days off. Also switch up your routine when you start again.

RE: My neck is killing me! (Drakarn)

I suppose...its actually been about 3 months of nonestop working out, maybe its time for me to take my week off.

RE: My neck is killing me! Can't even turn my head. (Misanthropy)
Tomorrow you should do nothing and heal. It is connected to a major area of movement and you never know what extent of the damage is. Knowing from my experiences that it could be a tendon or pinched nerve that was compremised. An ostopath or good chiropractor will be able to help to deternine the severity of the subluxation. For the pain, a good ointment would be Tiger Balm or Flexall will be best. It will get better in the next few days so dont risk anything and rest. Your body is telling you that you need a break.
My neck is killing me! Can't even turn my head. (Drakarn)

I was doing my Triceps/Legs day today and after doing the last set of Triceps Extensions I just kinda felt like something snapped in my upper back, sort of in the neck. I kept on going and finished my work out but my neck kept on hurting in sharp pains mainly when I try to move or turn my head. I feel so uncomfortable right now. Anyway, I had this happen to me a few times before and my brother had that happen last week from the same exercise, took him 3 days to fully recover and for the pain to go away. Sux that tomorrow is my Back/Shoulders/Traps day when my neck is killing me....well I'll try to go throught it anyway. I better be carefull next time I do Triceps Extensions and not pull any muscles.
