If you want to seperate them then that is fine. Most of your cutting is going to come from limiting your calories, cardio will help you burn some fat but not if you are consuming more energy(calories) then you are burning.

If you do cardio in the morning, then I would take some BCAA before workout and then have your normal breakfast postcardio.

If you do cardio when you lift then I would lift first, then do cardio. I would still take bcaa before workout and then take whey and bcaa postWO. I would then have a meal after about an hour postWO.

well there you go zultan.

this was what i was trying to say, but mine came out sporatically.

great advice redjeep. that's exactly how i would do it as well

RE: post cardio meal (RedJeep)

I would do your cardio when you can. OR, you can take the whey with bcaa powder. and the powder is absorbed within a few minutes b/c it's already in the broken-down state.. ready to be used.

RE: post cardio meal (zultan)

ORIGINAL: TheSilverFox

i'm not saying you need to eat a full meal. but 25 grams of whey protein with BCAA powder is enough muscle food to keep the muscles fed, and the body can pull from the fat reserves and eat those calories.

make sense?

so basically if i have a scoop of whey then im sorted, how long should i have the shake before the cardio? can i have it and jump right on the tredmill or wait 30mins?
RE: post cardio meal (TheSilverFox)

ORIGINAL: zultan

ORIGINAL: TheSilverFox

you should also have some bcaa's before you get your cardio on in the morning. why are you doing cardio in a catabolic state? that's not in your best interest, unless you like watching you muscles eating themselves b/c they have no nutrients while you do cardio.

this is getting silly lol. theres a post of the training forum about best times to train and boomer and david had a massive argument about it all, so decided to solve it by just seperating the two! now thats no good either????

i was told its best to do cardio in the morning on a light or empty stomach by quite a few of them on here, but not lift, then lift bout 8 hours later after eating all day???

that's fine. i didn't mean to confuse you.

yes.. an empty stomach is fine. HOWEVER... your muscles need some type of food.

if you get up from sleeping for 8 hours, and hit the treadmil.. your body is CRAVING nutrients. so if you don't give the muscles a substantial amount of food, the body will pull from the muscles in order to fuel your cardiovascular session.

catabolism - ... wikipedia that term if you need to.

i'm not saying you need to eat a full meal. but 25 grams of whey protein with BCAA powder is enough muscle food to keep the muscles fed, and the body can pull from the fat reserves and eat those calories.

make sense?
