( in a good way ) i wish i had those stats :O

Depends... My bro-in-law is 6'5" and 350 has a lot of fat on him. I worked with a guy who was 6'4" 320 very lean. He was the monster.

Jan 1st I was 320lbs. Doctor told me I was close to becoming Diabetic if I didn't do something about it. Currently down to 275lbs. Saw my Doc on thursday, was happy I lost 8 pounds since April. Cardio and Lifting, along with a managed diet of GOOD foods, will help take it off and keep it off. LONG term health is a LONG term goal.

WD
RE: I just started a gym (Atomic)

ORIGINAL: BodyBuildingNovice

ORIGINAL: dennis76

my goal is to build as much muscle as I can, I`m 6 4 weight is 350 but its not all fat, so I guess what I`m asking is should I cut weight by cardio or just focus on lifting?

no 1 else is amazed he is 6'4 350lbs? bro you must look like a freakin monster!! I just started and it's 12 weeks long and I'm 3 weeks into it. I read where larger muscle burns more calories so I decided to focus on muscle building first. At the end of my 12 weeks I'm going to switch to a 6 day workout with 3 days cardio and 3 days lifting. Cardio one day and weights the next. I'm pretty sure I'll be doing interval training for cardio. I guess we'll see how my plan goes.

RE: I just started a gym (boomersooner1331)

ORIGINAL: MaverickKeepsitReal

Both. When you're carrying around that much weight you need to strengthen your heart so it can handle the intensity of your workouts. Your diet will dictate your weight loss. Your training will dictate the shape of your body as you lose fat.

RE: I just started a gym (brihead301)

Lifting, diet, and consistency is all you really need. Doing heavy compound lifts will benefit you much more then cardio as far as muscle building/fat loss is concerned.

RE: I just started a gym (MaverickKeepsitReal)

Both. But seriously, no one can give you a serious answer. We dont know what you look like, your stats, goals or anything.

Just know that your diet is going to be a big part in shedding the weight. Cardio is good, but its your diet that will be the deciding factor.

ORIGINAL: dennis76

Heres the thing I have some pounds on me, should I do more cardio or just focus on lifting?
Any help will be apreciated

I just started a gym (dennis76)

Heres the thing I have some pounds on me, should I do more cardio or just focus on lifting?
Any help will be apreciated
