Like David said, it is a slower process. I Personally like to do what you are doing and eat very clean and about 400 above maint, I really dont like seeing a lot of fat gain and I think when you gain and then have to cut it takes just as long. If you are not trying to by arnold huge then I would stick to your lean muscle mass plan.

Bcaa before cardio should help to stop catabolism. Make sure you factor in your cardio and how much extra you need to eat so that you are not losing and are always gaining at least a little.

If you are looking to gain a lot of size, I would not do it this way. I am doing this for the summer to keep fairly cut and see some results. When summer is over it's bulk bulk bulk!
RE: explain this one to me (DZL)

take bcaa's and glutamine. maybe that'd help a little more

RE: explain this one to me (David1991)

it could work but theres a lot of variables to consider and overall ur progress would most likely be slow

RE: explain this one to me (Soccerking3000)

if you have a super clean diet you'll lose fat anyways...

explain this one to me (RollingStone)

Say i eat a super clean diet of about 2-400 over my maintenance and then every morning right when i wake up i take a bunch of bcaa and burn say 2-400 calories doing cardio.

Wouldnt i be burning mostly stored fat calories in the morning and then using the calories the rest of the day to build a little bit of muscle?

It seems to me like i could gain a tiny bit of muscle and lose fat this way though ive never been able to do it before and they say experienced lifters really cant do this kind of thing. I want to do it sooooooo bad.

edit: okay i just read that fasted cardio is very catabolic. I knew this already but did not really consider it. Would the bcaa do any kind of job at countering this?
