I'm also really wondering why is that so.

Am working on them though..

Re:trubeginner's training journal (vdk_au)

I mean your bench is quite strong (55kg + 20kg bar(?) = 75kg), yet your deadlift and squat are pretty much the same amount?
Re:trubeginner's training journal (trubeginner)

vdk_au

i'm asian too.....;)..seriously i am..

Really?

Wow, I don't know man. Probably you find it hard to believe, but we have a few competing bodybuilders in my school Uni's gym. Even that guy only bench 225 for 4 times, despite the fact that he's big.

I've never seen a person who squats 225 in my gym.

It's not me being defensive.. I mean, compared to people around me, my strength is not bad. But when I come on here and read what these guys are lifting, I feel like a little baby..

Re:trubeginner's training journal (vdk_au)

 i'm asian too.....;)..seriously i am..
Re:trubeginner's training journal (trubeginner)

 16 September 2008

Flat barbell bench press
2x5x27.5kg on each side of the bar
1x4x27.5kg on each side

Squats
3x5x28.75kg on each side of the bar

Deadlifts
1x5x32.5kg on each side

Some pullups

Re:trubeginner's training journal (trubeginner)

Yeah, I've always thought about that.

I don't know why but my strength seems to be pretty low, concerning my amount of muscle mass. That's one of the reasons I'm doing this kind of strength training though.
However, you should also take into consideration that I'm an Asian, and we don't lift like westerns do. In my uni, there are quite a few western people (exchange students), on average, they lift BIGGER than we do here. Sometimes even if you look at their body, our body is not that bad compared to them, even though we lift much less.

In where I live, I think my lifts are okay, although they seem to be very low compared to you guys.

Anyway, thanks for looking up! :)
Re:trubeginner's training journal (vdk_au)

hmm...u've been training for awhile and your lifts look low....are u sure u can't do much more weight or are u low on weight...i'm just sure u cud do more.....
Re:trubeginner's training journal (trubeginner)

 13 September 2008

Squats
3x5x27kg on each side of the bar

Standing OH press
2x5x11.25kg on each side of the bar
1x4x11.25kg on each side of the bar

Bent over barbell rows
3x5x16.25kg on each side of the bar

Re:trubeginner's training journal (trubeginner)

 11 September 2008

Squats
3x5x26.25kg on each side of the bar

Flat bench press 3x5x26.25kg on each side of the bar
Deadlift 1x5x30kg on each side of the bar
Re:trubeginner's training journal (trubeginner)

 9 August 2008

Squats: 3x5x25kg on each side of the bar

Standing overhead press: 3x5x10kg on each side of the bar

Bent-over barbell rows: 3x5x15kg on each side of the bar

Bodyweight: 78.6kg :(

Re:trubeginner's training journal (trubeginner)

 6 August 2008

Squats
3x5x22.5kg on each side of the bar

Flat bench press
3x5x25kg on each side of the bar

Deadlifts
1x5x25kg on each side of the bar

Do some pullups

Re:trubeginner's training journal (trubeginner)

 4 August 2008

Squats
3x5x21.25kg on each side of the bar

Standing OH Press
3x5x8.75kg on each side of the bar

Bent over barbell rows
3x5x13.75kg on each side of the bar

Re:trubeginner's training journal (trubeginner)

 2 August 2008

Squats
3x5x20kg on each side
Flat bench press: 3x5x23.75kg on each side

Deadlifts : 1x5x25kg on each side
Re:trubeginner's training journal (trubeginner)

 29 August 2008

Squats
3x5x18.75kg on each side

Standing OH press 3x5x7.5kg on each side
Bent over barbell row 3x5x12.5 kg on each side
