(smoundzou)

I think it depends on the intensity of the cardio and the amount of calories you're taking in on your bulk.. If you're eating clean, and have a good understanding of your body.. probably no need for cardio other than cardiovascular health.. If you're not sure about your diet, unfamiliar with your body and how it responds.. might not be a bad idea to keep the fat down.. Unfortunately that will have to be a personal call because no one can really predict how your body is responding..

ORIGINAL: Touchdown Jesus

Would doing cardio twice a week for about 15-20 mins be counter productive while doing HST? (Nm0ney34)

Yeah you could change those variables.

Also each workout your weight in that particular lift goes up.

Bench press you start out at 135x15
your next time you do 140x15
145x15 etc...so at the end of the 15 rep cycle you end on your 15 rep max.

thats why knowing your rep max for a given number is important so you can plan your workouts accordingly to increase the weight, thats what the progressive load is.

Hope that helped.

ORIGINAL: Touchdown Jesus

I like fox's routine(even though id throw in my personal favorite.. pull-ups.. and may just one set of dips)- but i have a question.. If i were to do the same routine, which i am thinking of doing, would I occasionally do variations of the excersies? Eg Incline bench instead of Flat? or even something like Dumbell instead of barbell? just wondering if stuff like that goes with the HST principle?

Oh and for his next workout will he be doing more weight? or does he wait a week to up the weight?

RE: What's the point of HST training?? (Nm0ney34)

The only time IMO you should even think about PH is when you have reached your natural peak, and are still dissatisfied or still want to get bigger.

I still do not recommend it, but I think that should be the only time. And if/when you go down that road just make sure you do your research about everything including your post cycle.
RE: What's the point of HST training?? Personally I use whey, a multi vit and creatine mono.

Do yourself a favour and stagger the methods you use to encourage growth. If growth ceases or begins to slow down in the future, change something in your routine. Failing that (or next) change your routine in it's entirety. Introduce a mild stimulating supplement the next time you hit a sticking point? When gains slow down again, put another reserve plan into action.

Effective training involves having all these little reserve plans in place and using them as and when they are required, not all at once. You need to ration your arsenal.

Change your routine and diet and reap benefit from it, learning about your body and how to train it for natural growth. You might even find that briheads joke about recommending squats may not be too far from the truth here.

Hmm.. i understand completely what you are saying. and even though i just purchased some nice prohormones..
