There is much to be said for positive and present thought.
Regardless of the outcome, because we all know that politics exists, I am very happy where I stand and with confidence I go in to win first, overall and then do Canadians Aug 9th, win first and get overall there too and get a pro card!!!!!! Big Visions, very doable.
I feel good!
now as for pics, I am behind about 3-5 photos shoots.........getting some new stuff up soon in my gallery!
Keep sending me all that positive energy, I can feel it!!!
Linda

RE: Linda 'Italianangel' Fitness Championships 08 (bulkingup)

 Lookin' good linda...
I look for you to do extremely well!
Keeping up pullups and body strength stuff which I just love and do very well. Light conditioning too but I missed Yoga for 2 weeks but I think I needed a break cuz I feel better in the back this week and I think its because of the hyper back poses in yoga which I am supposed to back off on but usually push because they are moves I used to do as a kid and loved, I was able to touch my head to my feet so like a moron I forget my back and start to push........well, will have to work on that.
Cardio is great, have had very light to moderate cardio, some days 90 mins on the bike and other days only 30-60 mins cardio and not 5 days per week each week....so that is a lot less than usual but I don't want to eat muscle if I don't need and then get too lanky, hate that look. Want to look full even so I aim for lean and cut. Balance grasshopper..........

Otherwise, 2 weeks left and counting, I am not as dark as I should be by now, been lazy about tanning and even so I color up, I need a good base tan, may have to go a bit more often the next week to get darker.
Suit has been tweaked and I am ready to rock.

RE: Linda 'Italianangel' Fitness Championships 08 (Italianangel)

I had bread this weekend and some chips but otherwise on track, although the cheat helped a lot. Training on track and had some good days of less pain, today is not one.....which reminds me the last week was not too bad comparatively.
Routine practice sucked today. My back won't get loose today but its pms, should be getting better by tomorrow for sure.
I tried a new thing today called a canabanoid, so far it has not done a lot to alleviate my pain though, but I did not take anything else and its only been 30 mins or so, so I will see how it goes. If this helps I am going to my dr to ge a form signed and will be on these, they are natural.
I did no cardio on the weekend and took one day off completely but otherwise regular training, weights, cardio, although light and heavy mixed with no heavy beyond moderate heavy.
Sitting about 13%, have not checked since the weekend cuz I am holding some water, I will check maybe Thursday or Friday when there is less water under my skin. I am still around 118% hovering up to 120% depending on time of day I WEIGH.
Feeling pretty good and as prepped as I can be, ahead of schedule and pretty relaxed.

New vid clips and articles:
Check out the latest Vid clip posted at http://youtube.com/user/BodyRushTraining showing how to work your abs with some yoga dolphins.
Go to http://youtube.com/user/FitnessFigure to check out the latest leg/glute exercise in a 5 part series, the single leg ball squat. With Eurocup I have had a few 90 min sessions on my recumbent bike nice n ezy which was handy due to back pain.
Diet has been good but had to add in extra carbs here and there, rice cakes, pb and a few cheats but feeling strong, light, energized and fit.
Putting together a fitness routine during the pre season, coming into on season.
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/putting_together_fitness_routine.htm
As for contest prep, am 6 wks out, 119lbs, 14-15%bf.
So far so good on the plan, been getting in some wide grip pullups, 3×7-8, twice now in the past week or so. Some other stuff according to plan and cardio on arc so far with routine today too as well as side shuffles.
On the weekend I did 90 mins on the bike while watching soccer….lovin the Eurocup.
Linda

RE: Linda 'Italianangel' Fitness Championships 08 (Italianangel)

I am at a low 15% bf at this point after another few cheats this weekend, low cals, just rich choices. Thats it for that, although I still look tighter.
6 weeks out at this point, and routine is solid although its been 2 weeks since practice.
Between my back and me listening, I have come to a 6 wk out plan for training to get me where I need. It may not be what I am used to, its not, this is a new one for me but so far the backing off has not hindered my results. I found a balance. If I have to back off and shorten sessions then I will spread it out and train daily. I split is so each area gets rests but this will keep me nice and pumped without major energy issues since the training sessions are quick hits.
I have decided to use a new hold/pushup combo for the intro to my routine. Now its definatly not dynamic.....its static, and small but very very very strong, and as far as I know, no one has done this yet for a fitness contest......I picked it up off a breakdance routine, a very strong one with major acrobatics too. I spotted out this move and went....hey, that I can do, now even just trying it for the first time. I get holds easy and pushups so this was a shoe in.
So its settled and I practice this week. I will post it once I reveal it at the contest.
6 Wk Plan
June 9 to July 19th
-tan 3-4 x per week
-routine run through 2-3 times per session, 2-3 times per week.
-Daily cardio and weights at home or gym, anyway I can get it in. Vary cardio each session, can combo. Judge need and amount based on physique so as to not over or under do it.

Cardio Choices
Treadmill

jog at 5-6mph on 0-3% incline for 20-30 mins

sprints at 30 sec runs @ 6-8mph alt with walk 2 mins at 3-5mph on 0-3% incline for 20-45mins
HIT for 15 mins increases by .5mph
walk at 10-15% incline @3-4mph for 45-60 mins
side shuffles for 10 mins per side alt 1 min per side @ 3mph on 1-3% incline
Recumbent Bike

long and lite for 30-90 mins
add more speed and intensity 20-60 mins
HIT 15-20 mins adding some intensity each min
Stair Master for 30 mins on fat burn level 6-10
ARC on ez at 10% incilne for 30-45 mins
Weights - 4 exercises per day (maybe 6) (daily, 7x/wk)
Day:

Lats + Quads (maybe abs)
Shoulders + Glutes
Arms (bi/tri) Add/abd
Chest + Low Back (lite, conditioning, shaping)
Abs + Calves (lite conditioning)
Hams + Shoulders
Arms, Glutes, + Chest (lite conditioning)
Will have choice of and use a variety of moderate with rare heavy and lite/conditioning weight/intensity via bands, plyoballs, freeweights and machines plus bodyweights. Body Ball, balance boards, outdoor training apparatus etc.
Will have these open options so I can play it by ear according to my back and treatments yet ensure to get it done one way or another toward end goal. It may not be my preferred way or what I am used to but it will still get me there. I just enjoy the tougher pace I used to keep.

Will keep up an hour yoga weekly. New teacher who is much more intense, I sweat more and its a stronger yoga.
(Italianangel)

So I was a bit, just slightly in the back of my mind, nervous. My back has been very sore, my training very minimal, cardio minimal, with 2-3 days off every 2-3 days of training. I blew my diet, not cals but types of food, refeed carbs, some fats fried…but today I measure at 13.8% bodyfat, did not do my anthtros and only did the caliper one read on superilliac but it seems hard to grab so I guess its about right and am I relived. I weight at 123 and thats on my crappy little zenith scale which usually overreads me…..I don’t feel that light but then again, pms alwyas makes you feel 20 lbs heavier, like a rock, solid and heavy and dragging.
Well anyway, its great news! still 2 mths to go, or just under, July 19th. I only need to drop another 6-7%……..this has been the lightest contest prep yet.
Routine is solid, without aerial though.
Linda
RE: Linda 'Italianangel' Fitness Championships 08 (Italianangel)

So far so good….. May 22, 2008 Things are looking good. I am confident in turnout just not used to doing this so laxed. I was always into the volume, frequency and overload so backing off in prep at 2 months out puts me in unknown territory, although I am not unhappy with the overall results, I am leaning, fast, not hungry and already able to be less strict than last year.
I got to routine today again and its solid…….without the aerial. I want to get that but my back sure resists me, I was not able to get the height today as I did last session for routine. I have kept up weights and conditioning and cardio, all at a slightly less intense and less time duration than my norm so yes, its great to be able to get away with doing less and getting same results as when i was kicking my ass………..but mentally, I enjoyed the push, I liked working hard and doing 6 days weights for an hour or more, then cardio and routine and plyos, all combined in days together. I used to be able to dead off 185 and then later go do aerials….or squat and shoulder press 185/80lb bar then go routine and that would be on a day where I would do 3-4 exercises per muscle groups, 3 muscle groups per day. I tried to progress myself to this again this year and my back just would not let me and demanded more days off, less weight days. Of course I do as I need so I don’t break but I aim to progress my back to a point where I can again work at the level I ENJOY and am used to.
I know the whole work smarter not harder deal, but I enjoy hard lifting, heavy lifting, old school lifts, martial arts and gymnastics……I really don’t want to give any of it up, and have backed off but in these activities you are only as good or fit as you put in……..the fun in these activities is the power you have to put out, figuring out how to get my back to cooperate has been the hard part.
well, aside the bitter sweet of this journey, I am still happy overall with the response of my physique and will look at pics/stats update again soon.
Oh and I am so excited, my video series is now up at bodybuilding.com!!!
Linda
