(danmac75)

Went to a local university's physiology lab to have underwater weighing done. I'll post the results at the bottom. First, though, I want to share with you that the teacher's assistant who was there was extremely impressed with my level of knowledge on the subject.

I have you all to thank. It also pays tribute to the old adage that Knowledge is Power. He spent a lot of extra time explaining the process to me because, as he kept saying, he knew I was very interested. He also told me that a lot of competetive BBr's come in weekly for Hydro weighing in preparation for a competition.

Frequency of testing is almost completely arbitrary, but he said every 3-6 months would yield the best results with regards to who indicitave they are of improvement or regression. It wasn't cheap at $40 so I'm glad I was able to squeak a little bit extra out of the deal. They also do a skinfold test just for comparison and I'm pretty sure they log how different the results are. In my case, skinfold was 5% lower than the hydro, which is an anomoly according to him. See for yourself.

Skinfold (Calipers):

Male
21 yrs.
201 lbs.
     41.1 lbs. fat
     160.2 lbs lean
BF% 20.4%

Hydrostatic Weighing
     50.32 lbs. fat
     150.98 lbs. lean
BF% 25%

I am in the lowest 10% for the average guy age 22-29. Definitely some room for improvement. However with my build, which he mentioned briefly to probably be a mix of meso and endo, I know that my potential can at least get me to the average which is about 15.9%.

So my new short term goal is to reach 15.9%. I just have to figure out a time table and will post what date I want to have it by!!!!
