I would recommend this, maybe lift in hte mornings on gamedays if you feel it doesnt effect anything..But for right now don't do any hardcore cardio vascular workouts, you get a great workout to help with speed and quickness during basketball practices..It's almost like track practices sometimes (depending on a win or loss ) But when bball is over, then get back to lifting regulary and then start a hardcore cardio vascular workout.

RE: bball vs lifting (fballforlife)

no they dont and idk if it makes a difference but when i lift on game days it's in the morning and i had a game today and we won i had 14 and played my best all year defensively, i guess it's not really my game that im worried about i just dont want to be overworking myself, i also just started cardiovascular excercise, i ran for 30 minutes at 9:30, i really just want to work on my speed and get bigger because having a great off season for football is my number one priority

RE: bball vs lifting (Carrhart)

Lifting before a game on game days can really really screw up your shot. I wouldn't really recommend that, maybe try lifting on the weekends? But you also need a rest day, doesn't your team provide some time in the school weight room?

bball vs lifting (fballforlife)

hey ive got a problem because basketball is starting to interfere with my workout. I really want to keep getting bigger for football and really work this offseason, but games during the week are not helping. I want to know if i should lift on game days, i already do on practice days of course, but should i start lifting on game days to stay on track with my routine?
