(abear)

the key is to plan ahead to get all your meals in. for most ppl, they have 1 meal before work or school, 3 meals at work or school and 2 meals after.

add some protein to breakfast (eggs, milk, protein shake, etc)

do a mid morning meal (tuna, fruit, nuts, etc)

instead of subway, what about cooking up some foods on the weekend and heating it up when needed?

before bed you could do something like cottage cheese or eggs with natty pb or nuts.

RE: Need more calories! Do you eat enought Protein ... 1.5g x weight ? if you dont, mabe add some protein food to your diet and keep the same amount of Carbs ...

I've been aiming for 1G x weight, I'l try boosting it up. My average daily food consumption:

Oatmeal, coffee and vitamin pill for breakfast. For lunch, I eat a 6inch or footlong sub at Subway with a drink. When I get home, I take a bunch of snacks like bread with butter (mostly carbs). Later, I eat a hamburger or steak and then something like salad or green peas. I eat a couple more snacks before sleelping.

I'm having trouble fitting in a lot of meals. Which weight gainer should I buy? I prefer to avoid creatine, it's not like I'm at a plateau and I don't want to risk messing up my liver.

RE: Need more calories! (Allanb)

 Hello,
I'm fairly new to bodybuilding (started a month and a half ago) and I'm 17 years old. I weight about 155 pounds and can bench 95 pounds (up from 65 when I started). So far I've been taking Udo's choice oil, optimum nutrition protein and a multivitamin pill. I've completely changed my diet for bodybuilding; No more greasy fast good, always whole wheat bread, very little coke, lots of vegetables etc, but now I have a new problem: I dont think I'm getting enough calories. My ribs are easily visible now, and that's a bad sign. However, it's difficult getting so many calories when I eat only eat healthy food and take about 4 meals a day... Should I start taking "weight gainers"? Do weight gainers have complex carbs and all the other stuff I'd be looking for in normal food? Any specific brands?

Thanks!
