Love deadlifts cleans and bench.
RE: New to powerlifting (twistedlink)

I do my deads and squats on the same, day and while theyre not amazingly high, i have gained a lo of strength in them 2 exercises.

RE: New to powerlifting (HEARTS)

I'll try that and thanks againf or the advice.

RE: New to powerlifting (zildjianman)

i'd say to atleast do them on squat day, but i dont think it would hurt to do them on DL day, just dont over do it because u dont have alot of time to rest between ur DL and squat and u dont want to screw up ur squat day

RE: New to powerlifting (HEARTS)

I do heavy bench on monday Tuesday is deadlift thursday is squats saturday is light bench.

I looked at some morespreads today and noticed they have 2 bench days like the one I'm doing, And on the heavy bench day you work our triceps and light bench day you work your arms.

should I do my hamstrings on deadlift day or squat day?

Thanks for the advice
RE: New to powerlifting (zildjianman)

i would say to just do them after deadlifting

normalyi do DL on mon(i warm up on squat and then on DL)with lats and other back stuff,

heavy bench on tues with curls, d bell bench, skull crushers and close grip bench after evey set, shoulders and evey once in awhile ill add more arm stuff and isos after bench

wed off

thur is squat with leg extentions, leg curls, and calves(sometimes leg press) and partials after squat

friday is light bench with hammer curls d bell bench and tricept pull downs and shoulders with isos after bench
RE: New to powerlifting (HEARTS)

I've been looking at a bunch of splits on bodybuilding.com it's just weird for me to not work a muscle groupd and focus more on the lift itself.(if that makes sense)

Your basically saying I don't need an arm or shoulder day? I've noticed I feel my tri's after bench day.

One last question. could I do straight leg deadlifts on squat day even though I did deadlifts 2 days before. It's teh same muscles but for straight it's mroe stress on your hamstrings. I don't know if this would be overdoing it or would help with regular deads.
New to powerlifting (HEARTS)

I just recently decided to stop bulking and get more into powerlifting. I've been looking at the workouts, and noticed that they revolve around deads, bench and squats. cleans and snatches don't seem to be a big part of it which surprised me. the other thing I noticed is most powerlifting workouts don't seem to include a day for arms. Should I add a day for arms or do they get worked enough as a secondary muscle?

Should I eat the same as when I bulk or eat less?
