You have some good info. I think the so called patrons need some schooling. Some will be receiptive. Others won' t. At least the smart ones will listen.

Hopefully the situation will change. Or you will learn to ignore others around you as I' ve had to do in my gym.

RE: New Exercises (joe)

That' s because most people are still sadly mistaken that if you don' t stay in the gym forever, you aren' t doing it right.

I had a friend ask me how much time I spend in the gym per day. I said about 45 mins to an hour. I don' t think he believed me. I mean, it really doesn' t take that long.

Go in, warm-up. Train hard. Leave. Eat. I' m not in there for half the day.

New Exercises (t.j.wes)

I recently moved from Springfield,Massachusettes to a small town in upstate New York.I`m used to training in a hardcore bodybuilding gym,but the only place to train here is at the University of St. Lawrence Fitness Facility. It is a state of the art gym with 2 sets of dumbells, one going up to 100# and the other set going up to 150# ,all kinds of Olympic weights and bars, about 15 assorted benches, and tons of great equipment. There is also a very large cardio center with a good amount of bikes, treadmills, and elliptical machines. Now the only thing bad about this gym is the patrons ,not that they are bad people they just don`t know how to train correctly.I don`t have anything against beginners but most of these people have been at it for years.I`ve been around the gym atmosphere for longer than I care to admit as a bodybuilder ,powerlifter, and personal trainer, but I don`t know how I missed all the new exercises performed at my new training headquarters. I`ve seen good mornings/cable crossovers, curls that double as reverse cleans.1/8 squats accompanied by screaming at the top of the lungs as an added benefit, and a myriad of abdominal exercises that look like seizures. It amazes me how anyone who is going to put a lot of effort and time in the gym, and get zero results doesn`t analyze the situatrion and adjust accordingly. Then when I`m training heavy and fast they look at me as if I`m doing something wrong.I really miss my old gym,I feel like I`m a stranger in a strange land and the invaders have landed.
