Then I wll switch to a lower calorie whey shake as I will begin a cutting phase in June. I have seen great results with the N Large and now that V12 is in the picture, my gains are amazing ~22.5lbs of weight since 1/10/04.

Only issue is I stetched a tendon in my shoulder and have to lighten up on the weights until it heals. I've been doing rotator cuff exercises and using ice 2x's a day for 20mins.

Thanks for all the feedback!

RE: Opinions on Protein Drinks (srruhaak)

I would suggest sticking to the protein powder. Although it might be a good idea to counter it with some carbs. Depends on what your goals are. I just usually drink a 100% whey protein shake after my workout and if I am still hungry, and to boost up my caloric intake, I eat a protein bar.

RE: Opinions on Protein Drinks (Saven)

If you want to switch to a regular protein you can just do this and it will give you all the calories+more.

Protein shake:

2 scoops whey
2 servings milk
1 or 2 globs of peanut butter
and blend

The whey is 120 calories per scoop(240). My 2% milk is 140 per serving (280). And my peanut butter is 190 calories per serving (380). And you can add a banana for vitamins. Totals out to something like 70 grams of protein.

RE: Opinions on Protein Drinks (catzilla)

I've used several different protein supplements over the years, and now use LA Whey - have done for the last couple of years now.

It's high protein and fairly low carbs. It mixes well (though I always use a blender) and tastes good (8 different flavours now I think).

RE: Opinions on Protein Drinks (abear)

you gain weight by consuming more calories than you expend.

if you drop the gainer and just do protein, you'll be dropping calories. can you afford this?

RE: Opinions on Protein Drinks (Trainer336)

N Large II is good quality and will work, but I don't like the taste. I like Cytogainer because it tastes great and mixes easy. I think their Rocky Road flavor is the best.

RE: Opinions on Protein Drinks (nickflnj)

Depends what your goals are. I take 2scoops w/8oz milk bringing in 34grams of protein and 450 calories per drink.

I am debating if I should change to a regular protein drink like Optimum Whey or something of that nature.
I have gained great weight but would the those protein mixes help me gain weight and mass or should I stick to having high calories? Suggestions?
