Alot of people (myself included) have problems with the staight bar. I would recommend laying off the bars all together and stick to dumbells until the tendonitis subsides. That should reduce the stress, give that a shot should help a bit.

D

RE: wrist (osama1234)

 aah, thanks
i went to the doc today, he quickly jumped to the conclusion that it was tendonitis...and if its not good in 3 weeks more i should see a physiotherapist. I just hope he diagnosed it correctly, and its not really a broken bone.
i think i will have to lay off the weights for a month more, tho i will continue to do my legs every monday.

RE: wrist (BIGDOG)

Wraps are just a supportive device around the base of your hand to about the middle of your forearm. Tensor makes decent ones, but I like Vet Tape. It's sticky one-time use stuff that veterinarians use on horses and such for wrapping injuries and supporting musculature while it heals. Wrap it tight to limit the backward flex on the wrist.

Since my injury healed I'm lifting far in excess of what I was when the fracture occurred. This is due in large part to a change in attitude, a change in technique, and supplementing with glucosamine. Bear in mind I'm forty-seven... I've got to think things through to prevent some limiting injuries: I've dropped the heavy bag workout because it's devastating on the wrists. I won't stop lifting.

RE: wrist (osama1234)

 what are wrist bands?
and can still lift just as much as earlier before your fracture?
btw, going to the doctor tomorow at 3 pm

RE: wrist (BIGDOG)

Definitely see a doctor. Meantime lay off the iron and take a few ibuprofen. I did the same thing last year, tried to power through it, and nearly ended up not being able to lift or play golf (!!!!) Mine was a stress fracture that just needed time to heal. Now I always wear wrist wraps for benching and curls and it helps a lot.

RE: wrist (Marc David)

 See a DR.

There is no point in just letting it be and then having some injury that could have been taken care of.

My guess is.. and I'm no doctor.. is that you might have some type of stress fracture. I wouldn't exercise it until you get a professional opinion as to what it is.

That may only make it worse.

wrist (osama1234)

i dunno what i did to it, but i also bike besides lifting, and i felt a pain in my arm, and soon i couldn't turn my steering bar of the bike...
i did that on march 12th, its been almost a month... i've gotten better, but i still can't lift weights and it hurts when i bike.. (i did today when i bought a new bike)..
btw, i think its my ligament, but i'm not sure, it didn't swell up or anything like that...
it just hurt to turn my wrist to make my palm face up, or down...
anybody have a clue, should i go to the doctor? its been a while... but i doubt its a bone... but still if its a ligament or tendon (whatever those mean, should i go to the doc)?
any idea, any exercises... this arm is really starting to get annoying...
