It increased testosterone levels to SUPRA PHYSIOLGICAL levels. In other words, it makes you a tad stronger, while in your system, it promotes recovery (amazingly so, from my experience), it increases protein synthesis, it causes nutrient partitioning. And much more.

Great info, thanks! The system I' m using puts a high emphasis on recovery (hence the 1x/week workout). Perhaps I' ll give 1-Test a try and see if I can continue to make the same per workout gains and shorten my at resting period.

thx,
Doug

RE: 1-Test (Doug)

ORIGINAL: mda1125
What exactly are your goals that you want to workout basically 1x a week, isometrically and need a pro-hormone? Can you clarify what results you are looking to obtain?

Basically, I' m just looking to increase lean mass as much as possible for end of Sept (in time for basketball leagues). I' ve not set a weight goal though.

The isometrics are working better than I thought as I' ve maintained the same body weight but have dropped 7%bf. I figure that' s not too bad though considering 1x/week (switched to this system ~4 months ago), I' m doing less cardio than when it' s bball season, and no diet change (except for added whey protein and an increased beer consumption). The most noticable increase I' ve had is 2 inches on the calves since early-May.

RE: 1-Test (Twin Peak)

I ahve no clue how an isometric routine fits into the picture but I' ll answer some of your questions.

1-test " gets into your system" rapidly. It also leaves your system rapidly too. Thus, if you are taking an oral variety, you' d want to take it 3-4 times daily, to keep hormone levels constant. If taken transdermally, twice daily will do.

Now, what does it do? It increased testosterone levels to SUPRA PHYSIOLGICAL levels. In other words, it makes you a tad stronger, while in your system, it promotes recovery (amazingly so, from my experience), it increases protein synthesis, it causes nutrient partitioning. And much more.

So yes, for its effects to be felt, you' d need it in your system for a continuom, before, during and after lifting.

BTW, as an aside, I have seen people have success with 1 week cycles (one on, one off, repeat) up to 8 week cycles.

RE: 1-Test (Marc David)

I' m going to look more into this.. and I' ll edit this message. From the sounds of it, you might consider this to be an occasional supplement that you take?

Yeah... when I was 18 I was on a 6 day/week schedule, but I was stupid. If I couldn' t up the weight I' d start " tossing" them... right up until my knee went out and my elbow still falls out of track now and then playing basket-ball. So in my search for something safer, I' ve been trying isometric holds with long breaks in-between. So far, I' m pleased with the results, but I' d like to do a cycle of 1-test to see how it adds to the mix.

Fact is.. I think you' ll wanna workout more then 1x a week when taking such a supplement. I also think you need to understand this type of supplement goes in a cycle.

I get the cycle bit (I think)... I was just being lazy in my first post. I' ve done creatine cycles and am thinking, from what I' ve read on 1-test, that it' s a similar deal. I' m looking to try a 4 on/4 off cycle for 1-3 cycles, depending on results.

This probably won' t clear up what I' m looking for, but I' ll try:
given that 1-test needs to be in your system to work, is it a slow accumulation that does it (i.e. it needs to be taken daily), or is it a fairly quick jump (i.e. taken a couple of days before a workout and up until the workout). I havn' t found anything addressing this, but then again, I think most people are on at least a Mon/Wed/Fri type of schedule that would make this question a moot point.

I suppose anther valid question would be, is it necessary to have it in your system post workout (as it is with protein)?

hope this clarifys!
Doug

RE: 1-Test (Marc David)

I' m not normally the expert in the field of pro-hormones but 1-TEST is considered such.

And you are doing a once a week workout? I also think you need to understand this type of supplement goes in a cycle.

A cycle means you start it.. and stay on it daily for 4-6 weeks. Then off. It' s not like a pre-workout supplement that you take whenever you are going to do a workout.

Not being the expert in this area, I do know enough that just by reading what you typed that you may have a mis-conception about 1-TEST and the classification of pro-hormones in general.

Recommendation: Read this Pro-hormone forum and browse the posted topics. Some links will take you to a general overview of the subject of these special supplements.

1-Test (Doug)

Sorry if this is a repeat... the search on the site isn' t working.

I' m trying a workout of isometric holds with long rest periods between (1 workout per week). The workout is based on Joe Sisko' s work, so I figured it' s reputable and worth some investigation. I want to take 1-Test while doing it though and am unsure as to how often I should take it.

Do I need to take the 1-Test everyday as if I were working out daily, or can I take it starting a couple days before my workout and get the same affect? Any insight is appreciated.

Doug
