(danmirage)

i lift as soon as i get up in the mornings with out eating first

Lifting requires glycogen...which you are depleted of when you wake up...the next energy substrate the body goes after is to make its own from muscle....fat is not used as a primary energy source during lifting...the anaerobic pathway is not a fat burning pathway...

Low intensity cardio would be ok after waking, but not lifting, unless the goal is to ruin your fat burning machine by destroying muscle.

Muscle milk is NOT ideal pre bed, but better than having nothing.

You would be better to do cardio and eat in the am to stoke the metabolism and lift for a short bout some time after that...

And even do some cardio just after that lifting...aerobic exercise can use either glucose or fat...exercise uses up the glucose...
RE: muscle milk before bed???
