As you know, AKG/AAKG are vasodiolators and convert to Nitric Oxide Gas. The nitric oxide gas expands our blood vessels which will accelerate a certain amount of blood, oxygen & nutrients that travel to the muscle tissue.

Nitric Oxide and L-Glutamine will work together to a certain extent. However, LG (a nitrogen transporter to the muscle cell) is not bonded to an AKG/AAKG and when an excessive amount of LG is taken, it doesn't know where to go in the body. This will cause less absorption of the NO into your system because now the excess LG will convert to ammonia which will then prevent some of the transformation of AKG/AAKG to NO. That's why some supps containing an NO formula will state not to take more than "X number" of grams of L-Glutamine per day with an NO supp.

Further, an increase in ammonia can have a toxic effect and may lead to a decrease in specific enzymes & increase damage to cells by generating free radicals.

Hope this helped, heres the link to it...

http://www.discussbodybuilding.com/m_110032/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm#110032

Goodluck,hope this helped.

RE: A Question that needs to be addressed concerning NO XPLODE (psychomuscleman)

I used to take 15 grams a day. I do believe it has something to do with lessening the effects of the No-Xplode. Do a search for glutamine/no-xplode and I'm sure you can find something.

A Question that needs to be addressed concerning NO XPLODE (evrocka)

if you consume too much glutamine while taking it what happens?

Is it dangerous, or does it just lessen the effects

right now my protein supp has 4 gms of glutamin per serving and I take 2 scoops a day but Im sure I get more glutamine in my diet from the rest of the food im eating

How concerned should I be?
