(staticlag)

In 2 weeks and you'll be at maximum again. That lady is silly. Donating blood is good for you, gets rid of excess iron.

RE: Donated blood.. how stupid was this??? (Rob)

Yeah right... ever hear of the guys that do blood doping?

The whole idea is that the volume of blood comes back to normal in a few days, and than they add more.

I wouldn't worry about it
RE: Donated blood.. how stupid was this??? (PeeveS)

one more thing... I dont know if this was stupid or not. I drank about 3.5 scoops of NOxplode to... That might have had somethign to do with it. However... i think i might have pulled an ab? I had a 25 plate and went back on this machine to do situps and i felt a sharp pain at the bottom of my abs.. I took a break from that for a while then went back and tried to do it without the plate and still had the sharp pain... Could that be what it is?? a pulled ab? Cause as im typeing this now i can feel it hurt.

RE: Donated blood.. how stupid was this??? (PeeveS)

Yea, well i lifted today... nothing major.... Only problems was i was getting light headed after doing things. I didnt really try to push myself but it was a little hard. A few people fromt he red cross said it would take 50 days for my blood levels to reuurn to normal. I just didnt know how long it would be befor i could lift.

RE: Donated blood.. how stupid was this??? (williat)

It seems to me like 50 days is wayyyy to long. I've donated blood and basically they just tell you to sit around for 30 mins or so and then let you leave so i assume you could probable go back to lifting tomorrow. And if it does take 50 days i hope she was REAL good looking!
RE: Donated blood.. how stupid was this??? (Marc David)

Once you feel good enough (no dizziness or anything else) you can go back to normal.

It probably does take 50 days for your blood levels to return to full. But your body is making blood quicker then normal becuase it's low.

Don't sweat it. I've donated before and went back to lifting the next day.

I wouldn't recommend it the day you donate.

But after? Sure.
RE: Donated blood.. how stupid was this??? (garublador)

You can probably lift the next day, but take it a little easy. It will probably be more difficult than normal. Just remember to drink extra water the day of and the day after you give.

Here's a link I found that gives some information:

http://faculty.deanza.edu/donahuemary/stories/storyReader$448

I'm not sure who told you that 50 day number, but I don't think they were right. Perhaps she meant 50 hours.
RE: Donated blood.. how stupid was this??? (Wooden)

50 days? thats sounds like a really long time to me since your body doesnt stop making new blood. I think you should be able to lift the next day or the day after that.

Donated blood.. how stupid was this???
